What was your BEST deer shot with?

Shot my best antlered buck with a s/s 21" barreled T/C Contender carbine chambered in a wildcat cartridge called 308Bellm = 444 Marlin brass necked down with 308 Win dies loaded to match 300 Savage ballistics = 150gr @ 2620fps.

Shot was 210 yards bullet entered it's left front chest exited right lungs breaking right front leg deer ran appr 40 yards before piling up.

My "best" buck..was a nice wide 8pt with a messed up right front ..I saw his unmistakeably small twisted tracks for 2 yrs...he disappeared for 2 seasons(forrestry work) then he returned to the same place....my son and I rattled/called him in to 30 yds from my natural ground blind "crooked toe" fell to my Browning Stainless Stalker...270 Win....130 gr handloads

Best whitetail

Took my best whitetail at 15 yards broadside with my .30-06 7600 pump carbine. Used 165 gr. Nosler Ballistic-tips, which blew up on the shoulder, but killed deer. This was in Farlton,Quebec in 1990. Scored net 144 5/8 B&C.

Being used to 'big' Deer here on the island, on the mainland just about everything looks like a trophy. Two of my nicer Deer the last few years have been on Mule Deer draw hunts in AB, hunting with my Daughter and Son In Law.

The first, shot with the 30-06 Husqvarna model 4000 light weight and handloads with 180gr Norma SPBT's.

And the European mount of it in my den that my Daughter did for me.

The second draw trip, a 5x5 Mulie where I used my 308 Norma Magnum, model 65DL and handloads using the 200gr Sierra SPBT's.

My best Whitetail was shot with a Remington model 742 in 308 Win. Nicest Mule Deer and nicest Moose was shot with my Ruger MK II in 300 WM. All were taken using handloads and 165g bullets.

870 express smooth bore, 30 yards. 5 point buck. I shot his identical brother the next night, same spot, 24 hours and 10 minutes later.
