Browning BLR 180gr 308. I have never shot a deer with anything else. This year I'm going to try a new to me Marlin 336 in 35 Remington with Hornady Leverevolution ammo. Topped with a Redfield revolution scope. Hope it works, I am superstitious about anything new.

my best was shot with a ruger #1 in 7mm mauser (7x57) last fall . I will never sell this baby... and to top it off I was shooting my handloads : 150 gr win power-point with 43.5 gr of IMR 4350

My biggest Mule was with a 303 jungle carbine along time ago. Biggest WT was with a 280 just a couple years ago. The "best" was a 3yr old WT I rattled in & shot with a 25-06. It may score 130 if lucky but it was far more fun than any other. Some does my boys shot when they were young ranks up with my best trophies.

Back about 12 years ago. We were hunting in PA . I was flanking a trail. The boys chased out a nice 8 pointer. Not a big deer at all but a nice rack. 15 feet, 7.7 Jap Arisaka.

Depends whether you meant 'best deer' or 'best deer shot' (emphasis on 'shot'). My best deer was a 300 pound Whitetail buck in south western Manitoba. One shot with a Browning 1886 saddle ring carbine 45-70 using a 350 grain Hornady round nose loaded to 1,850 fps. My best deer 'shots' were two large Whitetail does taken at 185 yards offhand with two shots from a Winchester/Miroku 1886 extralight 45-70 using a 420 grain cast bullet loaded to 1,350 fps. Runner-up for best 'shot' was a Whitetail buck running flat out at 75 yards broadside to me. One shot (aiming about 3 feet ahead of the buck) with an original Winchester 38-55 using a 255 grain cast bullet at 1,400 fps.
