What's on your hunting bucket list?

Doesn't change the fact that they are Feral Livestock, no different than a Feral Horse or Donkey. I have trouble seeing them as a Game Animal.

Lots of people LOOOOVE feral pigs... While I don't really count it hunting and thus doesn't really deserve to be in a discussion of a hunting bucket list, I'd be interested in doing a helicopter hog hunt. Not many opportunities to shot guns from a helicopter.

That's where I'm at, I'd go on a Helicopter Hog Hunt. I'd also pay to fly around in a Helicopter shooting Wolves, but apparently it's better for the Govt to do it on the Taxpayer's tab.

Bucket list is to continue hunting with my son and grandsons, here in Alberta. We have a wealth and diversity of wildlife, no need to hunt elsewhere.

They’re not there an invasive pest. But they are wild the population living there now has lived their entire lives in the bush. they used to cull them in droves and sell the meat but Canada and the US stopped allowing the import of it so they kinda just stopped doing it over time.

I've been on a self guided moose hunt in northern mb for several years now. We never saw much in the sign of moose, but we had a blast.
We stayed in camp that was a collection of tarps and shrink wrap around trees (for our cook shack shelter), that a third world shepard
wouldn't #### in. The wood smoke from fires burned your eyes, and the outhouse was a 300' walk uphill from camp with a million dollar view.
For me, it isn't about the killing of a critter, but the adventure of seeing what is out there.
That being said, I would like to finally knock an moose over with something other than a semi.
But my true bucket list animal, for some reason would be to shoot a walrus.
Not easy, nor cheap, but very few people on this planet have had the chance, or opportunity to do so.
I would like to add mu name to the list.

I'm generally a meat hunter - not into trophies, but I would like to do a Caribou hunt in northern Quebec. Caribou is delicious, and we're not able to hunt them in my neck of the woods.

I'm also considering a caribou hunt. Been looking at Northern MB as they all non-resident DIY caribou hunts. No outfitter required.

2. Bison & Caribou hunt in Yukon Territory. These would be my number 2 and 3 species that I'd like to hunt, and given the options, I think I'd like to hunt both in the Yukon. From what I've been seeing, both the scenery and abundance of game cannot be beat anywhere in Canada. I may be booking this for the 2027/2028 season.

Side note, it appears that Manitoba allows for non-residents to do DIY caribou hunts ($360) so this may actually be a more affordable option for 2025.

What's on your list?

Would you expand on the DIY part regarding caribou in Manitoba please?
I'd definitely be interested but everything I see says "Through a licensed outfitter and MUST be accompanied by a licensed guide"

Elk in Alberta which I will hopefully get into next fall. Definitely have the points, but my cousin was busy this fall and elk is a heavy lift to ask him to commit to.

Whitetails in Saskatchewan with my uncle. There are some dandy deer in his area and I've only hunted it a little but no matter what it's alway sfun.

I grew up on caribou and have shot several, but I'd love to get back up North for a caribou hunt but it would have to be the right hunt. My last caribou hunt was with my late father in 1995 so I'd want to be sure of the kind of hunt and people before I committed to doing another one.

I've shot muskox before but I'd love to get back to Banks Island to hunt with my old friend John Lucas Sr. and maybe take a fall muskox with my bow. All before old John is too old to get out on the land. Better get on that.

I guess I'm getting to the point where the people I hunt with are more important than the animal. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I stand corrected, I just looked through their Reg again and see the line about an outfitter being required. I saw the cost of a non-resident tag for caribou so assumed it could be purchased over the counter.

Other Provinces like Alberta don't offer a cost for non-resident OTC game tags for elk for example, because an outfitter is required.

Interesting. BC lists tag fees for resident and non resident in their regulation synopsis, even though you can't hunt big game without a guide or someone with a permit to accompany.
