Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

2 oz 3" mag turkey loads out of my Winchester 120 pump. According to the recoil tables it's somewhere approximating an african safari rifle. It would hit you so hard it'd cross your eyes:eek:
Had a Midland 30-06 with poorly designed stock and no recoil pad. Only gun that ever cut me, and this bastard cut me TWICE. With 180 grain loads it would rearrange your face. Don't HAVE it no more...;)

It seems the maverick 88 has surprised a couple other people, so I don't feel bad. Maverick 88 19" barrel, off the bench with 3" slugs. I felt like I got ROCKED with a 2x4, but continued to shoot a "group". When I got back to the truck, I had a bloody nose. (and nothing had hit my nose)

For me I guess it was a friend's Ruger no 1 in .375 H and H with some crazy assed loads. That little bugger got my attention:redface: I'd have to change the stock on that one.....

Both barrels at once on a 375H&H double.

Not the biggest caliber, but the worst recoil in memory.

Rem 870, 18.5 barrel, pistolgrip. I was shooting it all day and thought some clay pigeons were a good idea. Until one went high above me. I aimed and fired without hesitation, not thinking when you look up the radius to your face closes. I split my lip 1/4 way to my nose and loosend the front row of teeth.

A 340 Weather many  many  years ago I remember was not pleasent but the winner is (good ridance) a Ruger #3 in 45-70 with MAX 500gn loads off a bench !! Took me about two years after that gun left to work the flinch outta me :(

One guy just wanted to try it :D so I stood behind him as he touched it off in a gravel pit. I caught the gun as it landed completely sideway to the direction his arms were pointing :D :D

.300 Win Mag off the bench... funny how in the field you don't feel the recoil, though. :D

my uncle has an old single shot 10ga shotgun. he bet me i'd fall over. he was wrong...i rolled around on the ground cluching my shoulder.

My guide gun with SPICY loades gets your attention quick,Or the 375 with 300 gr loads, But the 7.5 # 458 Mountan rifle takes the cake,I gotta make that thing heavier!!!

Nothing extreme. 375 H&H, 338RUM, and anything that comes out of a 12 gauge.

All somewhat stout, but nothing I found uncomfortable.

I think the worst for me was my uncle's Browning BPS 10 gauge 3 1/2" with some pretty stout goose loads he had whipped up. I was 17 and weighed baout 150 lbs :) . They have video of me firing it where my upper body was bending at the waist like a contortionist. Jay from the site tried it out a few years later; his short body would not flex soo his brain bounced around in his skull like a ping pong ball :D . We had to get him extra strength Tylenol after he shot it to get rid of the headache he had :D .

12 gauge rem 870, 3 1/2" 2oz winchester High Velocity Turkey loads out of a xtra xtra full choke. But It still did'nt leave a bruise after 7 rounds from the ground, and only wearing a t-shirt.

When I was 9 years old my dad took me and my brother who was 7 years old out moose hunting up Fishel's River on the West Coast of Newfoundland. He took a Remington 870 from the office just incase we saw some geese, and me and brother each had a few shot at a can across the river with some SSG. That was my first experiance shooting, and I seem to recall it having quite the kick. We all laugh at that now, but when you're only like 9 years old and 50-60 lbs, a 12 guage SSG might be equal to a grown man shooting a .50 cal. It didn't seem to bother my little brother at all, but he was always a pretty tough kid (we used to beat on each other lots).

I have to say, the most uncomfortable longgun I've ever shot was an old cooey 12 guage singleshot with old winchester super X lead goose loads. Not the heaviest recoiling gun, but by far the worst to shoot

Hard plastic recoil pad, and a rather robust What, 4.5 maybe 5 lbs? Nothing I've ever shouldered was that memorable. It left me a bruise to remember for a while...:)

I've shot many heavy recoiling rifles, but for some reason the most unpleasant I have found is 3" magnum slugs out of my mossy500 18". Everytime I shoot it I get this pain in my sinuses, so I switched to 2 3/4" slugs for my bear defense round while hiking and working.

I had a Ruger #1 in 450 Ackley which I thought was bad, but then I bought a #1 in 416 rigby....that ##### kicked like nothing else Ive shot.
