Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

Hardest kicking was a 12ga. Win. Defender, shooting from the hip when I was about 14. I took two shots and handed the gun back to my dad (with my left hand!!). My right hand was totally numb, I was afraid it was broken  No damage though.

Most recoil award goes to an old Winchester lever gun in 45-70 full of handloads that I shot last year. I'd just gotten my .30-06 and thought I could handle big recoil. Shooting that 45-70 was like being pushed by the hand of god!! It was a little too much for me, I didn't enjoy it. The guy who owns it (big bastard, 6'5" and 200-something pounds) was watching, laughing the whole time  I think he put extra-hot rounds in there just to punish me even more! Never again, I think.

An old 12 guage side by side owned by my grandfather. It had a habit of firing both barrels at once every now and then.It really rocked me,especially since I was only about 12 at the time.

Single shot 12 gauge shooting slugs. It weighs about 6 lbs. and kicks real good. My son insisted on shooting it when he was 16 years old. I tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted. I got it on video and we both laugh at it now. If you run the video in slow motion you can see him being rocked back about a foot, and the look on his face was. All he could say was Holy crap.:)

The worst one I remember was a single shot 12 gauge (Cooey or winchester?) with 3 inch magnums. Probably because the gun was only about 6 pounds.

A friends savage lever action .308 was a ##### shooting from a rest because it seemed to want to leap up and back at the same time and it almost hit me in the eye with the scope a couple times. Probably the lightness or the stock design?

I'm not really that recoil sensitive either. My Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum and my model 70 Winchester in .338 don't bother me in the least.

for me it has to be the single shot steevens 12g "goose" gun my dad still has...36" barrel and a chock so tight I think that #2 shot has to come out one at a time...no recoil pad to speak of just a plastic but plate...

I would pay friends to shoot it in high school...I would give them a loonie...It only worked once....:D

I don't think that gun has been shot in 10 years..
all my dad's buddies say that thing could kill geese but it was not worth the pain..

I would have to say my NEF Handi-rifle in 45-70 loaded with 405gr bullet and 53gr of 3031. My best guess is 1850 fps. Although I have not shot many heavy recoiling guns to compare to except my 14" shotty with 3" 12g slugs. Rip through a full mag no problem (offhand of course).

That double 375HH would be something to shoot. Have tried my double 12g but only with light loads.

My buddy's got an older Win .270 that just hammers the hell out of me. I generally hunt with 300WSM or 338win - but for some reason (stock fit) that little Winny packs a wallop.

A mate's Sako stainless synthetic in .300 Win Mag with a thin hard rubber pad on the butt.
Kicked like a rogue elephant and left me with bruises......and that was offhand.
Mind you my bubba'd Kar98k 8x57 kicks like a mule off the bench so maybe I'm a wuss.
