Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

10 sxs. Bought it at fil pawn shop. Tried it in summer with a t-shirt on. Pulled the trigger and got pushed back a step and wondered if I could handle the kick then realized both barrels let loose. Had it for years then gave it to a RCMP friend when my black lab died.

Somewhere on this thread I said 50BMG was the hardest kicker I've shot, and I guess it still is the most powerful cartridge I've shot. But now that I own one, and have shot it a few hundred times, I don't find it very objectionable at all. The rifle is heavy, the brake is huge...the kick on your shoulder isn't bad at all. I've actually shot steel buttplate military rifles that seem to "hurt" more.

Remove the brake and report back. :)

First was a 300 rum in a tika light rifle from a bench, shooting a 200gr bullet at 3200fps, ignorant pair. I volunteered to sight it in for him. Duh
Second was a 338 LM without a muzzle break. Slid back on the ground sheet.

My 1895 with 405's is pretty far up there. Worse, IMHO than my Ruger No. 1 in 375 H&H and 458 were. 300 Weatherby MkV was right up there for knocking the spit out of you. I also had a little Pedersoli side-by-each caplock 12 that weighed about 4 1/2 lbs. With a hefty charge, and the steel buttplate, not a crapload of fun. My little lever 12 with 14" barrel and 3" buckshot hurts like heck, as does my 12" SXS 12 ga. when double-banged. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.

Sako A7 in 300 WSM off the bench rest, very light rifle, I shoot 12 guage 3.5" waterfowl loads no problem but that 300 WSM is just too much for me off the bench rest. Can't imagine shooting a 460 wby.
