Whats the hardest kicking gun you ever fired?

A .270 win, stevens model 200, i had to send the gun back because the cases would swell up to the point of bursting and completly flatten the primer!
Found out a barrel defect was present the bore only measured .269 instead of .277, when i got the gun back i sold it, could not bring myself to try it again.

I shot a Ruger No. 1 in 416 Rigby, that was stout. Also a 3" turkey load in my 14" fabarm will let you know when the trigger is pulled.
All in all, it doesn't get much worse than a 3" 12G shell, and even that isn't too bad.

I could only get through 5 pages of this thread without chiming in. A double barrel 12 gauge firing both barrels at the same time. The damn thing jumped up outta my hands and i managed to catch it 2 feet away. It was fun but it hurt a bit.

Easy one for me, my brother was into goose hunting and bought an old 10 gauge double that would occasionally fire both barrels because of a weak sear. I shot it once and it literally knocked the glasses off my face. Thinking back I am fairly sure that thing was not marked for 3 1/2 inch shells but he fired them anyways.

Same here. I shot one load (2-1/4 oz) at a turkey while leaning up against a tree calling it in. I completely winded myself. Safe to say the Jake got the worst of that one but not by much

SuperNova undetaker choke on 24 inch barrel, Remington 3 1/2 000 buckshot, ouch!
I also have a T3 lite 30-06 that recoils quite hard with RL22 and 200 grain game kings, quite painful at the bench..

I think the John Wilkes .500 NE is the hardest kicking rifle I've ever fired. IIRC the load correctly I think it was 89 grs of 3031 behind a 570 gr bullet for 2150, there were both Xs and solids of the same weight The turn of the century (19th to 20th) rubber recoil pad was about as soft as an inch thick strip of poplar, so I probably found that rifle a bit more trying than had it been fitted with a modern good quality recoil pad. Checking an on line recoil calculator, the .500 actually produced 3 ft/lbs less recoil than my old .416 Rigby load of 102 grs of H-4350 behind a 350 gr bullet, the .416 weighing 9 lbs and the .500 12.
Believe it or not the most objectionable rifle I recall ever shooting was a 7.62X54R Mosin Nagant carbine with milsurp ammo, possibly Chech. I was wearing T-shirt and that curved metal butt plate sure bit. I could never get my handloads to shoot as well as the surplus ammo probably because I was loading .308" bullets, so between poor groups, a crummy trigger, and that miserable stock and butt-plate it wasn't long before I was back to shooting a .30/06.

Had a couple of 378s and 2 460s. I think 3 Rigbys. The 460 has more overall recoil but the 378s are close and also quite snappy. The real sleeper is the Rigby, when properly ( or improperly ) loaded it has all the snap of the 378 and a real heavy big push. I'm talking 350s at 2850, not even full power. It's the only gun that ever cut my front hand. I allways thought it was silly when guys say the front swivel can get your hand. I was doing some ripid fire open sight shooting with a Rigby and after I was done my front hand was indeed bleeding.
