Mine was a 460 Weatherby I fired about 10yrs ago.I am glad that i fired it off hand an not from a bench. The owner called this gun Satan and rightly so.What a monster.

Too funny! When I was about 14, my friend's dad took us out to the rifle range. He had a number of different rifles to try, none of which I remember, except for the 460 Weatherby, which my friend had to beg his dad before he finally let us try. We also shot it offhand, and man did it rock us!

I remember the grins we had too!:D

I also tried some slugs through a friends Beretta O/U, and for some reason that kicked like a friggin mule!

I shot a few rounds of trap last summer with a friends old Winchester Ranger 1300 12 ga.

Even with light trap loads I was begging forgiveness. Needless to say, he really liked my 1100 with a Cutts Compensator.:D

A Remington 700 BDL in .338 Win Mag. I don't know why, but that rifle was a beast. Extremely unpleasant to shoot. It belonged to my friend, and at the time I had a Sako FinnFiber in .338 Win Mag, which was a pussycat. Next in line is a Mauser 96 (straight-pull) in .300 Win Mag. It had no recoil pad and weighed 6.25lbs + rings and scope. The stock was very slim profile and it just dug in, especially with hot 220gr loads! My Remington Safari Custom in .416 RM was much nicer than either of these!

AAHH they all feel the same to me

I feel no pain:D

a buddy's 16 gauge single shot stevens ... with a plastic stock! shot from a kneeling position ... that ended up prone.
many years ago ... i think the fool still has it!

.338 Win Mag.
Had a 300Win in a Sav 110 for the last 20 years, could blast gouphers all day. Sold it & got a Win M70 in .338, the trigger gaurd would bruse my middle finger after 2 shots (as well as my forehead). Sold it & bought a Weatherby Vangaurd, does the same thing. Thinkin of selling it & going back to a .300 Win Mag.

Broke his teeth

When I was a young lad I went to the range with an uncle. He fired a light rifle in .308 Norma mag.. He must of held it wrong because after the shot he spit out the two halves of the broken upper plate of his dentures. We laughed pretty hard listening to him yell Thit dat sthmartzzz.

So far for me it was a friends #5 Enfield jungle carbine...I don't know what they did to that design in the day, but they are freaky kickers IMHO. :D

Second up is my ill fated experiment of firing Slugs out of my 12 gauge using a Pistol grip...after 5 shots of slugs and 5 shots of 000 Buck something went "crack" in my wrist. :(

Needless to say the original Stock is back on the shotgun. :D

For me I guess it was a friend's Ruger no 1 in .375 H and H with some crazy assed loads. That little bugger got my attention:redface: I'd have to change the stock on that one.....

Like one of the above, mine was 3in slugs from a Maverick 88 18.5in bbl with a pistol grip stock (not the pistol grip full stock, just the pistol grip). Never again, at least not without a Knoxx...

460 Weatherby 500gr in a bolt gun and a .475 No2 Jeffrey Nitro Express 500gr in a Purdey double that's stock was too short for me.
