Yes there are a large number of Lee Enfields out there that have been abused or are worn out. The fact that there are so many still in service, still reasonably accurate, and shooting a non magnum cartridge that will harvest ANY animal in North America shows the Lee Enfield is far from useless.

You are entitled to your opinion.

Never dump on the rifle used by another shooter, she may be able to shoot it far better than you shoot yours....
And it may be all he or she can afford.

Or are you a Lee Enfield collector trying to drive prices down???

The 303 is as fine a rifle as the ones who own them, love them, and shoot them with pride. :)

What's the most useless gun ever?......That's an easy question. The most useless gun ever is any gun that's been chopped-up and melted down. We have to Vote Harper in with a big majority. If the Liberals get back in, even as a minority, we all could see our guns becoming "the most usless guns ever". Get out and vote, get every one you know to vote, be a hero and offer rides to people who can't get to the voting stations themselves. Don't waste your vote on the NDP and GRN Party. We have to all vote for Harper. We have to give him a majority. It's time to fight the good fight:)

I guess all our collector 86 winchesters are useless guns seeing as their actions are long, clunky, the guns are unnessessarily heavy, & the calibers are weak by todays standards!
IMO if you were only given one gun to survive in the wild for the rest of your life with no possibilities to get the thing repaired a .303 LE would be close to the top of the heap :)
 
The most useless gun in the world is not the SKS - it makes a billion uneducated farmers into an army (well, it and the AK).

It is the L85 Carbine. It's too short and unbalanced and cannot be shot off-hand without getting a cocking handle/hot brass in the face/down the neck. To think the military is trying to replace my HK53 with one . . . beggars belief. And the 5.56 round, well the less said about that the better.

If I had to give up all my guns and survive with only one, it'd be my '45 Isaphore SMLE. It'll always go bang when needed, at 600m hit anything dangerous enough to threaten me, fill the freezer every fall and keep me laughing on the range when the Rem/Sav/Rug/Laz/Mau/wiz bang shooter groups worse than I do. And while the ARs and custom Remmy 700s bring the tech to the range, the SMLEs bring the soul :).

I know plenty of people with thousands of dollars worth of gun that can't hit a thing because they spent money on wood/metal/glass instead of brass, powder and bullets.

I on the other hand run a few hundred old fashioned rimmed cartridges, designed for black powder and cordite, through my $140 SMLE each year and as a result would happily face a Grizzly, Taliban or Figure 11 with it any day or night.

THE MOST USELESS GUN IN THE WORLD is the one that the shooter can't hit the target with.

Happiness is having a Lee-Enfield when you discover your enemy is carrying a rifle chambered in 7.62x39.
 
Actually my vote for most useless goes to the plastic covered "survival .22.... still made , accuracy , none ;)
as for the bolt action shotgun comment , curious , on what do you base the comment ? I have one in 12, 20 and .410 , I find them alot of fun , and have served me well bunny hunting :)
