whats the ultimate pump or lever

When I was a field geologist I alway planned to get a 7600 carbine in 30-06 and then have it re-chambered and bored for the underappreciated .338-06 for a stopping rifle for the great bears.

Install a Wilson ghost ring sight for fast under 25 yard shooting.

It would have the advantage of great sectional density plus the bragging rights for a unique carbine.

As to the quint essential lever gun for deer size game. There can be only one

The winchester model 94 (insert caliber choice)
The model 94 in .30-30 was said to (at one time) taken more whitetail deer
than any other gun and caliber combined.

As for the pump I'd be guessing but the Remington model 7600 (insert caliber)
It seems to have a huge fan base. Toted to have excellent reliability and accuracy, as well as having quick target accusition.

Those are my choices and yes I know, I must be ghey I own 2 94's in .30-30
One was grandpa's and the other was the first rifle I ever bought. I just can't part with either. CDN 1
yup s 94 the crudest cycling lever of all time combined with a terrible trigger
pie plate accuracy
possibly a 336 marlin or a modern take a blr

Ultimate lever?
John Wooter's custom Winchester Model 88 with mannlicher stock in 7mm-08 made by Joe Balickie. (His wife had a matching rifle)
Saw a photo of those rifles in a gun/hunting magazine back in the 90's; absolutely beautiful rifles!

I have a Model 88 rebarreled to 7mm-08; just need to get a mannlicher stock for it...
