You are freaking unbelievable - if you need the gun tomorrow, just ask for rush service. CanAm did offer rush service for guys who want the Grizzly 870 under Christmas trees. And he is nice enough to throw in extra pistol grip for free for every one - on top of free shipping!

Rush service was not an option given. I was not notified of how my gun was shipped until after it was sent.

All I wanted was better communication, not my gun delivered to my door yesterday.

If he was so backed up with orders that he could not reply to e-mails or voice mails - all he had to do was post something on his website stating that he was overwhelmed and was back logged.

I am reasonable but also a paying customer and that must be given some consideration that once you take someone's money, you cannot ignore them when they have legitimate concerns.

I am not going to beat a dead horse anymore - I feel that I have explained myself enough already as to why I am unhappy with Canada Ammo's customer service.

My friend,

What can I say....things happen - sometimes not so nice. I ordered 1120 last year from another dealer, the guy in the post office counter asked me to move the case from the warehouse myself, because it's too dangerous for him to handle "explosives". One of my friend ordered a SAKO TRG 22 for Christmas, then was told back order waiting list is one year long....that freak him out....

Happy New Year!

Restricted firearms can not be sent by regular Canada post parcel . Has to be Priority courier 3 days delivery time from one side of the country to the other
Maybe Can post discovered it was a firearm & is now under investigation

Above, you are very wrong. All it requires is the signature option.

And maybe CanAm got tired of being emailed 40 times over a gun he only made $50 on. If your emails sounded at all whiney like your post I can see why he'd chose not to deal with it. If you count what his time is worth, replying to those 40 repetitive emails AND updating his webpage would have probably made him lose $250 on the gun instead of making a meager profit. Throw in your complaining and he may have just lost a few customers so he's lost even more money.

You have your tracking number, that's all you're entitled to. If you want someone to hold your hand go to the off topic forum and post "want someone to hold my hand"

Do your research #1bcshooter is correct according to CFC and Canada Post:

Canada Post:

'4.3 Firearms (Including Imitation and Replica Firearms)

Please contact the Canadian Firearms Centre at 1-800-731-4000 to determine whether it is permissible to ship your firearms.

When it is determined permissible to ship firearms, they are to be shipped using Canada Post’s most secure product, Priority Courier with signature'

CFC:

'As is currently the case with non-restricted firearms, restricted firearms and prohibited handguns may be shipped to another location in Canada using the most secure method offered by Canada Post that requires a signature on delivery'

Hubby got his order back in Nov (I think) but that's because he had ordered earlier than Xmas season. It took slightly more time than he would have liked, but only slightly. It'll come. Just have fun prying open the sardine can...

Here we go again, this thread has now veered off in another direction that has already been beaten to death.

#1 - Canada Post does not set law for shipping of firearms. In fact, they aren't even supposed to know that it's a firearm in there, as that would increase the chances of theft. It's their policy, which is an entirely different thing. I do acknowledge that if they lose your parcel and then you tell them it's a $1k pistol, you might be SOL for insurance purposes, as you didn't follow their corporate policy. You'll note that when you send parcels you only warrant that they do not include "dangerous goods/explosives".

#2 - The theory that Courier is necessarily more secure than Expresspost with signature (or parcel with signature, for that matter) is open to wide interpretation and is unclear in the Firearms regs. I have made many purchases from gunshops across the country and none of them have ever arrived via Priority Courier. It's either ExpressPost or Expedited Parcel (w/signature). Speed of delivery does not necessarily equate to "security".

Communication is key!
I think most people can be patient if they are kept up to date with any delays or problems......it's when you don't here from people you are dealing with that these bad feelings start to arise.
Can-am is swamped right now but that's not an excuse just a fact and possibly an explanation for anyone that has slipped through the cracks....
Happy shooting in 2008 with your new pistol! :)

all my dealings ... and those of friends of mine... with Canam have been excellent through and through..

Just to relate a recent experience.... I dropped of a package for a fellow cgn'er at the post office.... with tracking ect. It got to sortation plant 5 days after i left it with the clerk at the desk....the sortation depot is 15 minute drive from the office i dropped it at. It sat in sortation for another 6 days, took 4 days to go from surrey to ontario and was delivered to the cgner a further 6 days after that. For a total of 21 days, sent parcel post, signature, insured. it was mailed on november 29th.
christmas and new years does WONDERS at slowing down the mail and courier companies.

Finally

Received my ammo order yesterday, roughly three weeks from order date, heres the kicker, it didnt go out until the 28th, three day delivery, on my order the hold up was with can am ...........not the courier, also, I would have been fine with it ,had i known that the orders take three weeks to arrive

in todays electronic world you just cannot over communicate....remember

In lieu of the facts.....people always think the worst
