Whats with the 375H&H haters?

Pretty interesting to see the 375 H&H Over takes the 375 Ruger with Factory super performance ammo. 250gr GMX About 98fps difference with barrel only 1 inch longer!

Most important part of that article from 2014 is this:

The .375 H&H has been around for more than 100 years, and during most of that time it's been extremely popular among hunters who go to Africa and among professional hunters there as well. But based on what I witnessed with my guides in Alaska, the growing trend there is to go with the .375 Ruger.

One can also conclude from the same paragraph that the 375 H&H is King of the dark Continent as an all-around cartridge.:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

For Alaska I would much prefer a 338 win mag. Doesn't take much to take down the big game of the North.

The article is from a few years ago, in 2014.

375 Ruger has been taking over African hunting, too. Especially with hunters who actually live and hunt in Africa. ;)

Well I searched around to see if your claim is fact but it appears that the 375 H&H is still trucking along really well. Ive read some African Forums and it appears the people who want to use the 375 Ruger are indeed mostly Americans who are on a budget. You also get the complaint of Ammo not being available everywhere. The fact is the H&H is still King!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I wouldn't want to show up to Africa with a Mossberg but perhaps you would since its chambered in the 375 Ruger which you acknowledge as your King.

Another factor to consider is the Rugers aren't cheap as they say they are. The guide guns and African models run around 1600$ which is no way a budget or cheaper alternative than a CZ 550 Magnum action or Winchester M70 Alaskan.

Of course the H&H is "trucking along" as it's been around for over 100 years. The Ruger is simply taking over in new 375 caliber rifle sales, while sales of the obsolete H&H are stagnant. Nobody ever claimed the H&H has disappeared off the face of the earth. Laugh2

It's great that you "searched around" and "read some African forums" but I converse regularly with hunters who live in various African countries, they all say the same thing- 375 Ruger guns and ammo are readily available, have been gaining popularity for years and continue to do so.
