What's your all-time favorite black rifle? Not because it's the "best".... but just because it's cool to you

Steyr AUG - It is truly ahead of its time in the late 70's while HK and FN along with RO in the UK are still doing stamped sheet metal for everything. HK did have G11 but it ended up no where - Steyr was the only one to bring a non-stamp sheet metal gun other than AR to full production - and then the Steyr ACR.

Polycarbonate hammer and trigger pack with plastic stock welded into once piece. Cast Aluminum receiver that basically turned the AR18 sideway - and use twin guide rods doubling as charging handle and push rod. The QD barrel is way ahead then anything else anyone can come up with at that time.

Tough call. I like the AK 100 series. If I could I'd buy one of the K Var .223 Ak's with siderail and triangular '74 buttstock.

My unobtanium wish rifle would be the HK G-41. Basically an HK 33 using Stanag mags and has a last round hold open. Something sorely missing on the G3 and HK 33/91 series

Never owned them, let alone touched one- but I've always liked the aesthetics of the OG Galil and the Valmet it's based on. One of these days...
Here are a few for you....
