Ex-Sudan issue AR-10.....sigh
Why the ex-Sudanese rifle in particular? Aside from the cool bayonet and slightly lighter weight (fluted barrel), it was not the best of the original Artillerie Inrichtingen-manufactured AR10 rifles. That distinction goes to the final 1960 "NATO" model, also referred to as the "Portuguese" variant due to it being selected to fill the largest of the orignal AR10 rifle contracts, placed by the Portuguese Government for its colonial war in Angola. The NATO/Portuguese model AR10 featured several tangible improvements over the previous variants to include:

- Fully chrome-lined Chamber and Bore
- Rifle Grenade Launching Sleeve over the Barrel
- 3-Position Gas Regulator
- Telescoping Charging Handle with no rearward protrusion outside the Upper Receiver

Apologies for my lack of a Sudanese version on-hand to show you. I have included a stock photo below for visual comparison purposes.

Never owned an ar15 yet hopefully in the future but my first two would be a c7 dissipator and a m16k both beautifully based
Then if hell froze over and we started getting our rights back I’d get some FN FALs, HK G3s mp5s just go wild wit lol

There are so many unbelievably cool black rifles, and I would love to own some of the models posted in this thread, but when this BS is overturned and we can open our safes and let them see the light of day this will be the first one out!

some will probably snicker and giggle at my choice. it's the S&W M&P15 sport 2 carbine that tickles me best. I added an ALG trigger and JP spring kit plus a magpul forend, pistol grip, and MFT minimalist buttstock. topped it off with an inexpensive but very light leupold 1-4x scope and blue force gear sling. the rifle feels like a feather in the hands and points like it's telepathic and accuracy isn't fantastic but it is quite acceptable.. I have other AR pattern rifles, some of which are kind of spendy but that S&W is the one that went to the range with me the most often. I would reach for it first if the wheels fell off the planet.

My 24" SS bull barrel AR. Built it myself for $700. Shot consistent .25"-.3" five shot groups @ 100 yards. Currently collecting dust in my basement safe  (at least until Oct. 2025).

Closest I've ever owned to a black rifle was the Radom brs 99, which I sold years ago. I liked it for the most part although the irons were crap, and the five round mags on a PPC were dumb cuz it was labeled a rifle.

But, I'd still like to own an AK. I guess the Sks and hopefully m10x will have to do. Never cared for the AR, too many damn small parts.
