What's your all-time favorite black rifle? Not because it's the "best".... but just because it's cool to you

Another interesting item - Calio M900

Not the most practical firearm - having the sight over the magazine is not the most ideal but the material construction and concept were innovative.

Lots of innovation and risk taking back in the 80's.

Daewoo K1.

I used to think it was inferior to the AR 15 A1 at the time because it was cheaper, I was wrong. Much better.
Wondering what they would be like today if they didn't prohib them.

Bartok5 and Daver_II

Both awful and awesome at the same time.
Two guys + two Uzi's + 8 mags + a full box of ammo and alone on the range = a lot of fun.
I once loaded a mag and brushed the berm until empty.
But loading by thumb the mags was a real chore, rapidly forgotten.

G3, or anything else roller-delayed.

Through the RCN, I'm qualified on the MP5 - excellent sights, and with a little practice the whole mag goes into 1 big hole even on full-auto.
I was once exchanged to a German Navy vessel for a few days, and 2 h after I got there they were having a G3 practice shoot - they throw balloons over the side, pull the ship a few hundred yards away, and have at'em.
Their shipboard rifles have Hensoldt 4x scopes, and for the shoot they download machine gun ammo and pull the tracers - so shooters can see what their rounds are doing.
I was so excited to take a whack at this, and they said "Sorry you can't, you're not qualified on the rifle" and I responded with "I'm qualified on the MP5, does that count?"
It did.
Not only did I gain an appreciation for what bullets hitting the water really do (because I could see it), but I was amazed at how smooth-shooting and comfortable this thing made the 7.62. Also, HK diopter sights are the cat's meow especially at longer ranges.

I would love to be able to have various configurations in 5.56, 7.62 or 6.5CM, and .300BLK replace all my other rifles.

Here's my MP5A3 for ya! (I already showed my G3 a few pages back)

I'd digging the "tactical" shooting mats lifted from the nearest cabana!
Very tactical.....

These guys were the real thing. All of our rifle and GPMG shooting was from the prone position cause guys who stand upright get shot more.........

They let us shoot 3 or 4, 40mm grenades. 2 training rounds then 2 live fragmentation rounds.

Hmmm..... tough question! If I were to base my response on the particular firearm's era, historical confict involvement, and overall "black guns" impact, then I would have to give the nod to the original, 1960 Artillerie Inrichtingen-manufactured Armalite AR10 rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. The follow-on historical impact is obvious based on the firearm's close resemblence to its progeny, the venerable M16 Rifle:

Mine would be the P90 and the AR-10, as shown above and said by others.

Closest I've ever owned to a black rifle was the Radom brs 99, which I sold years ago. I liked it for the most part although the irons were crap, and the five round mags on a PPC were dumb cuz it was labeled a rifle.

But, I'd still like to own an AK. I guess the Sks and hopefully m10x will have to do. Never cared for the AR, too many damn small parts.
You should have put a red dot on your BRS - it really changes the gun for the better. Perhaps yours preceeded the arrival of the Picatinny Top-Covers?

Here's my Russian Izhevsk AKMS for your viewing pleasure:

The P90 is a fun gun, but I wouldn't necessarily want to depend on it as a dangerous wildlife killer even if mine were NR.. The cartridge is just too dubious, especially in the 40gr civilian varmint loadings that we plebs are authorized to purchase:

As for the Original AR10, what can I say other than you clearly demonstrate excellent taste!

Yeah, I know what you mean! There is something to be said for the light weight and lively handling of the original AR15. This original Colt SP1 Carbine is done up as a Colt 601, the initial purchase by US AIrforce General Curtis Lemay of several thousand AR15s for Airbase Guards in Vietnam...

I thought the early Model 601 rifles, the first AR-15s adopted by the US Air Force in 1959, had the green furniture. If I'm not mistaken, the brown was on the earliest AR-15s built in the late 1950s. Those two were kind of, sort of, more or less what I was going for years ago with this one:
