You know wht a new rifle means.... hopefully not but potentially a few threads fired at the 7mm Rem Mag an particularly loading for it.
i purchased this over the weekend as per my 708... 3006 threads, its a Rem 700 SPS, 7 RM... looks to have seen a bit of use but should have plenty left in it...this ownrer has only shot those cartridges, he may not be fond of it but said "it shoots moa with hornady 150" ...... so it must 'shoot'.......

heres some photos from him, here in Aus i need to apply for a "permit to acquire a firearm" , which can take 7 to 10 days then once in the mail i have to get it paid and tamped at a bank..... which is don in the town with the gun shop too, then go to the gun shop an give them the paper an get my gun, oh an pay them $50 to write my details in the "book"..... ffn joke.

anyway - i negotiated a bit an got the lot minus the scope.... i think its too average for me to use, even on the 222 .... but its still an option i spose for $100..might have a 2nd look.

Don't you love those Rem recoil pads, I had to replace all 3 of my buddies recoil pads on his Rems last year because they went all gooey over the winter.

Is the RELOADER 22 going to be suitable for 140-160 gr projies ?

would normally use ADI, but may have a switcheroo ?

cool thing with ADI is ya can sort of tailor the recoil to it, some powders burn fast n hard, an some slower, thus givin a different feeling on the end , i find.

looks like AR2225 and AR2213sc works my end. i will look up availibility of Alliant powders

Yes. I reload for three 7mm Rem Mags, one 7mm Wby, and a couple 7 STW's. RL22 has worked well in all three cartridges. In the 7 RM, I usually use 160 gr bullets. - dan

I have a 7mmRM , RL22 works great in mine and I've found the 160 gr bullets to be the best all around weight in all of the 280 Rem , 7mmRM class rifles I've owned .

4350 is equiv to AR2209.

n 165 is like reloader 22 quiv, which is between 2213sc and 2217

Dogleg, who has a good 7-300 reamer? What do you use for dies? Thanks.

Apapro on the forum has a reamer. I use an extra 7 Rem FL die for the initial neck down and Redding FL 300 Win bushing die with the right bushing thereafter. You could continue with the Rem Die screwed out for awhile though; perhaps forever if you had a 300 Win body die around. I’ve also used a universal 7mm neck die just to say I did. I seat with a 7 Rem seater.

Basically the same technique as a 6.5-300.

Put it this way; I use the 180 VLD in my current 7-300 and one of my STWs. It matches the STW with 5 grains less of the same powder and 2 inches less barrel. Its considerably more magazine friendly as well.

dogleg it sounds like i wouldnt be very good with the amount of powder burn goin on for my shoulder an flinch :)

il leave that for you big boys!

im just steppin back into this magnum game, this time with alot more knowledge on what im doin with it

With a proper fitting stock i haven't found the 7mm mag to be a bad kicker, except in a light weight Salvage i sighted in. Good luck with the Remington.
