Which 22 target ammo?

CCI standard velocity is great. 10/22 50 yards.

Without breaking the bank you might try Eley sport which is $6.99 when bought by the brick and REALLY shoots nice in my cz's. I was also very impressed with sk pistol match and SK standard which my local c.t. carries. Sk pistol was only $9.99 and standard was $6.99. Target shooting supplies in Toronto has them. This ammo is cheap to buy but believe me it really performs MUCH better than the price would suggest!

Thanks for the advice guys. The CCI standard velocity seem to shoot really well. Tried the 1/2" challenge today but didn't quite work out. First 3 groups were .276, .357 and .323 and then ended up pulling one on 4th group. Weather wasn't cooperating the best as the wind was just starting to pick up so I'll wait for another day.

How does your CZ's shoot at 50 yards with the Eley sport and SK standard ?

So far my CZ Varmint likes Fedral gold medal target and Aquila sub sonic. Four shots in .5" and one flier at 50 yards. Didn't like CCI SV or Blaser.

Have any of you experienced light primer strikes with Aquila 40gr Super Extra .22LR? 10rds out of 50 did on me, ran them through again and they went off. No issues going through 100rds of CCI SV the same day so I know it isn't my rifle.

The Aquila were more accurate but getting out of the zone to load a round on a five round string isn't to ideal lol.

Could be a bad batch. I bought a couple boxes of CCI SV and Blazer. Had to force the cartridges out of the plastic tray. Excessive wax on bullets. Difficult to close the bolt and poor accuracy 1" at 50 yards.

Winchester Dynapoint did better. The Aquila Super Extra high velocity was suprisingly consistent. Shot four groups all under .5" mark. Aquila Super Extra standard velocity was .5" to 1".

In my rifle I found CCI AR Tactical is the most consistent of CCI ammo compared to SV, Subsonic, Mini mag 36 and 40 gr. Not as many fliers.

CZ 452 Varmint 50 yards. 5 shot groups

Just a guess but assuming you did not clean and recondition the bore with each new batch of ammo.
Is the AR Tactical and WW333 copper plated? From my experience after using copper, even the best ammo will not perform to expected levels.
Quite certain that had you cleaned the rifle, conditioned the bore and used that box of ammo until you had 9 groups the conclusions may have differed.
Velocities from those different varieties may have told another story.
CCI MiniMags will show vastly different results when velocity is consistent but will swing considerably when velocity drops.

CCI AR Tactical and Winchester 333 are copper plated. I usually fire five shots from a new batch then start for groups.

I tested again at 50 yards from a clean barrel using CCI Standard velocity. One 100 rd plastic tray and another 50 rd paper box.

The CCI SV in the plastic tray shot the same 1"+ group but switching to the paper box CCI SV was much smaller .5"-.7" group.

I measured the bullets with a dial caliper. The plastic tray is .220" and paper box is .224" diameter. No wonder the accuracy was poor. Eley, RWS, SK all measured at .224" diameter.

CCI Mini mags 36 gr/40 gr and Subsonic 40 gr don't shoot well in any of my 22's. Even starting with a clean barrel. All three types measure .220", including CCI Blazer.

It seems the plastic 100 rd trays are made to cycle reliably in semi auto's and the paper box's are for bolt action's. If you want accuracy then buy the paper box CCI SV.

I didn't measure between paper box and plastic but accuracy wise I had no difference between the 2. I ran out of plastic box part way through one of my targets and switched to the paper box with same results and reliability out of the semi.

That's pretty wild that there is a bullet diameter difference between the 100rd plastic box vs 50rd paper box CCI SV's, they should state that on the boxes or at least in the online spec pages imo.

Has anybody measured the bullet dia on CCI's Green Tag # 0033 SV? I had emailed CCI about the differences between there SV #0032 and the SV Green tag #0033 and was told the tolerances are much closer on the Green Tag rounds. They are in the 100rd plastic boxes, maybe they are .224" bullets.

Just measured CCI Stingers and Minimags at .224"
