Which Bulk Ammo ?

Hi, starting to shoot now, and I was wondering which BULK AMMO would you choose for the price considering the riffles/pistol ?

I have to feed:
Savage Mark II BTV
Savage Mark II F
Norinco JW-14
Ruger Standard (1973, A-100 MK1 frame)


Bulk Ammos I see around here:
Winchester Wildcats: 19.94$/500
Winchester 555: 18.36$/500
Blazer: 24.99$/525
Federal: 29.99$/500
Remington Thunderbolt: 17.58$/500
CCI Stinger: 50.63$/500 (ouch!)



I will use at the range, and sometimes the riffles in the woods.

I have had very few problems with the Winchester 555. I don't see any firearms on your list that would balk at them. Very, very few FTF's.

Personal favourite is the Federal bulk pack but the price puts me off, but I have yet to have any problems with them.

I always had bad luck with winchester. Innaccurate and lots of FTF's. Remington is very dirty, not particularly good(for me!) unless you go up to the yellow jackets.

Mostly I shoot blazer and the federal 525 packs, I find them clean and accurate. For gophers I use the federal 525 packs.I like that its a hollow point of the gophers.

I've never had a FTF with either blazer or federal. But I've had lots with winchester, and a few with remington.

Really though, you need to try them through your gun. Buy some 50 packs of all the ammo you're considering and head to the range and shoot some groups.
 
Never a problem persay with the 333s or 555s by Winchester. Thousands fired in the last 2 years. WILL not even cycle Remington thru any of my guns and Federals is a poor second to Winchesters. Have not tried many other manufactured ammo as I am very content with the cleanliness and accuracy of Winchester. Also with the huge prices of other brands, I would put up with a few FTFs but have not had to do that.
 
My Dlask 10/22 loves the Winchester 333 & 555 bulk packs and is quite accurate. Seem QC is better than the Dynapoints with less problem rounds.
 
Another vote for 333 and 555. Great stuff. Buying it a Wallmart is a pain though. PAL, second form of id, retinal scan, note from your mom...
 
Don't buy ammo, especially .22 ammo, in bulk until you've tried a box of as many brands as you can, in each rifle, to find the ammo each one shoots best. No two will shoot the same ammo the same way.
 
When I buy ammo at Wal-Mart, I have only been asked for the PAL card so they can see it is current. Even at Cabela's, they are consistant like Wal-Mart. Never been asked for further ID, even at the small country stores that carry ammo.
 
I also don't have a problem with Walmart. Maybe Ontario is different?

I usually buy Winchester HP's or Dynapoints for my VTR 597. It loves the Yellowjackets but I cant get them where I live, plus they are around $50 for a brick of 500. The Blazers are really good for the price. I have yet to try the Federal bulk pack.
 
Definitely +1000 for the winchester bulk (555/333) packs. Cheap, easy to find, copper plated, rounded nose so it will feed in a semi well, hollowpoint so it will take out a few squirrels, rabbits, partridge etc. Good stuff all around i've found. Fired a few thousand rounds, and have gotten maybe 2 or 3 stovepipes in the nylon 66 or ruger mkIII.

Winchester wildcats are decent. No ftf so far out of my first brick, and they shoot amazing out of my dad's single six.

-10000 for the federal champion bulk packs. Not only were they 12 bucks more than the winchesters, out of one box i got about a dozen ftf (dud rounds) and at least one stovepipe/failure to eject and chamber a new round EVERY 10 ROUND RELOAD. Utter garbage, unless the pack i got was from a bad lot, but i'll not be wasting my money on another box just to find out.
 
im fairly new to the sport as well and i went threw this same debate not long ago, so i did like was suggested above and got a bunch of 50 or 100 packs of about 8 different kinds of ammo

so far the one that never seems to fail and is pretty accurate is the blazer, i've put about 4000 rounds of it threw my browning buckmark with no issues, the same cant be said for winchester or federal especially
 
I stocked up years back and was a big fan of the federal 525 bonus packs but now at $28.99 and my stockpile depleating , I think I will have to try the 555's at $20 a box . wont go near winchester xpert
 
Win. 555 have worked well and been accurate in most my rifles and pistols, as have Federal 525 bulk packs.
Remington Thunderbolts were the only thing that would work properly, when breaking in my SIG Mosquito. Also fired the best group from a High Standard with them. There are more duds, though, particularly in cold weather. I bought 2 cases @ 14.99 a brick, awhile back, at LeBaron's. Don't regret it. Not as bad as a lot of people claim they are.
