Hm.
What I've got and what it's for:
Ruger 10/22 Carbine: plinking, target practice, small game.
Remington 870 Marine Magnum ("Alice"): range blasting, zombies, clays.
Remington 870 Super Magnum Combo ("Marla"): deer with the slug barrel, small game, wing shooting, and clays with the vent rib barrel.
Lyman Great Plains Hunter .50 flintlock: deer during muzzleloader season, blowing up vegetables (you would not believe what a .50 roundball will do to a turnip; calling it "plinking" does not do it justice), generating huge clouds of blackpowder smoke that smells like victory whatever the time of day.
What I'd like to get and what it's be for:
Mannlicher Scout: my battery is woefully deficient in the centrefire rifle department, and from what I've read, the Scout is a pretty nifty rifle. For larger big game.
Remington 673 Guide Gun (.308): I just like the looks of this thing. Someday I expect to go moose hunting...
Longbranch Lee-Enfield: Unbubba'ed, of course. Because everybody needs a Lee-Enfield. Especially one that's made in Canada.
Those don't really cover the pistol/SHTF rifle departments. For whatever reason, I don't find myself terribly attracted to pistols, but given the "rest-of-my-life" nature of the list, if I had to pick one it'd probably be a Para-Ordnance 1911 clone of one flavour or another. Wide-frame of course. For a SHTF rifle, I really like the looks of the Armalite AR-10B, but sadly, since it's a Prohib, an Armalite AR-180b would be the most likely readily-available-in-Canada choice
