Here's a chance to list your preferred inventory of firearms.
I only have one request.....let's keep it realistic.
If you don't have a restricted handgun licence and no intention to get one then don't list handguns.
If a specific arm is prohibited like semi-autos are here in Oz or like FN-FALs and other military rifles are for you guys then don't put them down.
And if there is no chance that you could ever conceivably afford it(H&H doubles in 600 NE or the like) then be sensible and don't list it either.
This is a sort of practical list that you can accumulate over the years and actually use, not a scene from "The Matrix" where you say "I need guns; lots of guns......preferably the expensive and prohibited type!"
Now, what would you like, folks?

I would like a Weatherby TRR in 30-378 or 338-378 just to see how well it would shoot.

PGW timberwolf is something I will one day own.
Next purchase will be an HK USP either Tactical or expert as I just got my restricted yesterday.

Everything else will be custom.

T/C Hawken in .50,.54 & .58
Quigley rifle 45/70
Spencer carbine
Henry rifle 44/40
Win. '92 .45 Colt
Ruger Vacero in .45 Colt
and maybe a couple of cap & ball pistols in .36 or .44..

I'm down to about one rifle out of my want to have list, and I'll get one some day. Most of the rifles that I always wanted I've bought already. Some I played with, then sold or traded off, because they didn't suit my normal preferences, but had wanted to have. Such as a Savage 99 in 250-3000, for some reason since I was a kid I had my heart set on getting one, I eventually did. Played with it, admired it, then traded it. I'm a bolt rifle guy, so it didn't suit my flavour. I do like singles though, and particularily 45/70's.......so in saying that I'd love to aquire a Browning BPCR in just that caliber. Other than that I don't dream about anything inparticular. I have considered liquidating a bunch of my collection to get a Martini and Hagen made in something like 300 H&H, just because they are a work of art, but I don't see myself doing thatin the immediate future.

I got mine where I want to be (223, 260, 30-06, 12 ga)

I could use a rimfire 22 & something like a 350 Rem Mag, maybe a Seven CDL or a m77 mk2 SS ;), oh, and a Marlin 1895G

if I want it...I'll either build it or buy it...
got most everyting I want though...
collectable stuff doesn't turn my crank...well..maybe one mint Pre'64 M70 Featherweight in 243 or 270 would be nice:D
although I'm still planning to buy or build a nice "classic" looking controlled feed bolt action on 30-06 some time this year...just to commemorate the 100th birthday of the old war horse...maybe I'll just pickup a new Remington 798 when i can get a look at one......maybe restock it....laminate is OK, but not "classic" at all:)
I could go for a CZ 527 in 221 Fireball though....:)

Hmmm....

A few guns I still need:
Swiss Arms PE-90 (would really want a black special flattop)
a nice O/U 12 guage (would love a Perazzi or a Merkel)
a 12.5in Rem 870P
Marlin lever action (45/70, s/s)
an STI Edge and 4.15 Duty (both in 40SW)
a Blaser R93 LRS 2

I've already acquired a few of my "unicorns" but there is still a short (and expensive) list that must be dealt with :D

Lets see now!!

A 45 cal semi auto pistol full tricked out for IPSC
A side by side shot gun1
A 300 win mag hunting rifle,
A 338 win mag " " "
A 375 H&H " " "
A Luger
A Mauser 7.65 pistol
A Webley revolver

Anybody who wants to give a present will be greatly thanked!!:D:D:D

20 Gu O/U

A few 12 guages and other assorted fun rifles/shotguns, as well as a few handguns, and sentimental guns, probbaly a dozen in total...

All I woudl really want is an AR type rifle, which I wont' buy since I can't take ot off the range, and I woudln't mind a 45 LC Ruger Bisley Vaquero, either....:)

Oops...forgot my own list!

Well, not for the first time I've overlooked posting on my own thread.
Here goes:
  • Martini Enfield Sporter in .303 Brit - 28" bbl, express sights, classic sporting stock
  • Martini Cadet custom in 357 Mag - 26" bbl with ghost ring and classic sporting stock
  • Anschutz 54 Match rifle .22lr scoped 10x40
  • Martini Henry custom sporter in 40-65 Win - 26" bbl w/ express sights
  • Savage Combo in 30-30/20g or 12g w/ 3-9x scope
  • 7mm Ackley or 280 Ackley F-Class rifle with Bushnell Elite 8-32x.....action undecided(not Rem700!)
  • Husqvarna, Sako or custom M98 9.3x62 w/1.5-6x50 Lynx scope in QD rings and express sights
  • Martini Henry/Enfield custom 7x65R or Ruger #1 7x57 w/ 3-9x40
  • Martini Cadet custom 6.5x50R Jap or 6.5/25-35 Imp wildcat w/ heavy bbl & 3-9x scope
  • Greener Martini 12g trap gun
  • Drilling 16g/16g/7x57R with bbl inserts in 9.3x74R
  • Vickers Martini .22lr target rifle
  • Win 95 in 303 Brit
Yep, I love Martinis and would love more.
Even saw a reference on an African hunting site the other day to a Martini Henry double rifle but they must be super rare.
The first 2 in this list are already into the planning stages as I've gained actions for them and simply need to save up the cash for the job.
From there stuff goes down in order of need or likelihood.
If I had the money for the drilling I'd buy one tomorrow & it would effectivly kill the need for the Greener trap gun, Savage combo and Martini or Ruger in 7mm but at about 6 grand it's unlikely.
At the end of the day the Savage would be the most practical.

My current list is:
  1. Remington Mod 6 .22lr "Boys Rifle"
  2. Anschutz 1400 .22lr w/ Tasco WC 6x40
  3. BSA Martini Cadet custom .25-20 w/ Weaver steel tube K6
  4. 1914 ShtLE 303/25 w/ cutdown mil stock and Bisley Deluxe 3-9x40 on Lynx bridgemount
  5. Bubba'd '41 Kar98k 8x57 w/ Tasco MAG IV 3-12x40AO in Leupold mounts & rings

The K98 needs a decent synth stock and a decent rebarrel(in the same cal of course!) and reblue and I should add I didn't bubba it.
But otherwise my current rifles are ok.
Anyhow, most of my gun choices are custom jobs and as such not very normal but even so they aren't too impractical or overly expensive.
Certainly not more than some of the Weatherbys, Remingtons or Sakos out there.

I'm with Gatehouse on the AR thing. Great looking guns, but super impractical for me since I couldnt never take them off the range. For my wtb list:
Tikka M695 Laminate in 338 Ultra
Brno 375H&H
12g semi-auto (great for seal hunting)
10g slug gun
Marlin 60SS

There are of course other guns that peak my interest but nothing that I can see myself getting in the future.
