I'm debatting on which one of these two to get. Price aside which would you get? I might get into IPSC later but for now I just want a full metal 9mm that's fairly accurate. No 1911's please.

There on par but the CZ is cheaper, also pic both up and see what one fits better.

You cant go wrong with ether SIG or CZ

If your going to get s Sig, go to the store and grab a few. Sig makes many different models of the 226 and some fell different in the hand compared to others. For example, my Elite has a dovetail with wood grip and has the STR trigger and it really fells off to my when I hold a reg 226.

I have both and while I think that the Sig is an amazing design, I shoot the cz better and it fits my hands better as well so that's my favorite. Having said that get both:) They are like two beautiful women why can't you love and enjoy them both.

But have you seen the Shadow??? That is one fugly looking pistol:puke:

Not only seen one but compete with one.
First, it's not ugly by any means, and everyone is allowed to have an opinion. Since you have low regard for others', I'll allow myself to treat you same way.
Second, do you consider SIG being a better urban combat gun? Collector's item? Bragging rights item? German superiority arm? Or what?

For IPSC, CZ SP-01 Shadow would be a better choice than SIG 226.
Or you can name many top shooters competing with 226?

I really don't see why you would take my opinion as a personal insult but your are entitled to that.
Would I consider SIG being a better urban combat gun? I don't know as I don't fight in urban combat.
Collector's item? If both were unused, sure. A new Shadow is what, like $1,000 compared to a $1,600 Sig??? Better finish too.
Bragging rights item? Sure, I like it better and have shot them both.
German superiority arm? Absolutely. A sig is German engineering at it's finest.
I don't shoot IPSC so I wouldn't know what you all shoot. I never once made a claim to the Shadow not be a great gun, I just said it was ugly. I didn't mean to get your panties in a knot.

I got to try about 12 different 9mm's and the Sig was one of them. After the dust settled the CZ Shadow was a clear winner for me. I found that the Shadow's bore line sits a lot closer to the shooter's grip so there's less lift during the recoil.

Having said this the Sig is a great gun. I found it relatively easy to get nice tight groupings compared to a lot of the other guns. The only downside for me was a slightly longer time to re-aquire the sight picture. In the end though I shot the Shadow just as well and for me it had less muzzle rise. That and I liked the feel of it better.

The Sig is a great duty pistol, in fact it's probably the best police service pistol made. The CZ is virtually taylor made for IPSC competition, if there's a chance you'll shoot IPSC, you may as well start with the best pistol for that task. Handle both, one will call your name.

If you decide on Sig and plan to shoot IPSC I suggest one of the steel frame versions.

Sigs: Very well made and very accurate. Heavy triggers (DA in particular). Bore axis a little high but this is manageable. Good sights, and the gun should last forever.

CZ Shadow: Lower bore axis and weight distribution set up for recoil absorption, also accurate with better triggers and the option for swapping out factory parts to get pretty much a purpose-built Production gun set up for racing...and winning. Rougher machine work and finish than the Sigs.

Try both and pick the one you like shooting the best. you won'[t be sorry with either one.
