Who is buying a Type81?

im new to the forum, you guys are soo cruel to anyone who tries to bring something new... things happen, ever co-ordinated anything in your lives?

I had a chance to shoot the type 81 when I was In the military. It was an excellent, accurate rifle that performed with no failures throughout the day with six of us taking turns putting it through the paces. I would think you can't go wrong with this purchase. If I didn't have a cz I would get one for sure.

When you've been on a while, and had your hopes raised and dashed a few times by importers who promise the moon and deliver mud, you'll become bitter like the rest of us.

I appreciate the effort and money that the importers put into bringing in new products. But I've become dis-inclined to finance pipe-dreams with pre-orders. There is far too much that can delay delivery, or prevent it altogether. Between the fickle nature of the Horse Police classifications, CBSA douchebaggery, changing political masters in Ottawa, international sanctions, conflicts eating up the supplies... There's a lot that can prevent a new gun from ever reaching the market in Canada, regardless of the best intentions of the importer (I've seen all of the above stop an import in the past 5 years).

The importers all know this. The reputable ones only take your money when they have a product in their warehouse yo sell.

its not the lack of co ordination it is the lack of communication that upsets people

Bam! Exactly what it is.

So it looks like these are legit coming through. I see the nay sayers are silent. I guess the faithful have won! Looks like the only thing left to b*tch about is shipping times...and wonder if the guns will be made well and pass TI's inspection...:stirthepot2:...but it looks like they're coming through!

Yeah I really have to laugh at those who claimed to have "secret inside information" that these were not going to get made at all, etc.

TI started taking pre-orders in March 2016 for promised summer 2016 deliveries. It's summer 2017 and TI hasn't seen the rifles in person yet, hopes to inspect them soon, and nobody has one in their hands. I think cynicism is more than warranted by those who have had their hard earned pay in TI's bank account earning interest for THEM for the last 17 months.

I am into rental properties when not at my day job. When a housing developer wants people to "pre-order" a dwelling, they have to steeply discount it, the price of raising early capital this way. Business people are savvy and don't want their money earning returns for someone else unless there is a clear benefit for them attached. And in the case of a dwelling, there is a signed contract ensuring it will be built, the developer has clear title to the land, etc.

In this case, I don't see what's changed. People have been lured into paying full price for a product that may or may not yet exist, more than a year after it was promised to have been delivered. People who are waiting for actual guns to be in Canada for sale appear to have made the better business decision.

I'm out the $1200 either way, if I spent it last march or this September...the difference is I won't be fighting to order what's left online when they do land...mine will have a shipping label with my name on it before the leftovers hit the web store...I think I made the better business decision...

Claven's just saying that you could have invested that 1200$, however you wanted, for the last year. Then still buy the gun and keep your earnings. That's the difference between 1200 out THEN and 1200 out NOW/when they get here. And "fighting to order" doesn't seem like it will be the case to me imo. Someone on here said that they still have 400 left to preorder. I'm not sure if that means only 400 left in the whole order or if the preorder is special stock. Would have been nice if TI told us how many are coming (as far I I know they haven't). Perhaps that was a marketing trick to get the preorders. Who knows, TI ain't saying much
