Alot of folks are having scope problems right now at the worst possible time, with hunting season just around the corner. Generally speaking, who is the best scope maker in your opinion?

What offers the best value for the dollars spent?

I propose the Leupold Vari-X III line; I have used them for years and have never had any problems. Mind you, for the kind of money they cost better had be good.

Who needs scopes when I've got an old rusted out 30/30 that I can consistantly shoot 1/2 inch groups with at 200 yards. Using just the old buckhorn

I have 5, VXII 3X9X40 Leupolds they are awsome optics and if anything goes wrong the are fixed no problem, $409.00 new from Bashaw Sports. Worth every cent in my opinion. I find them to be the best at early dawn and late dusk for clarity. The VXIII series are alot more exspensive but i find not that much better to justify $300.00 more dollars.

Like #### all man. Do it every day

I dont know who makes the "BEST".None of the makes listed are anywhere near the best IMO.I myself use Leupold.I have some of their M-8's a couple of Vari-XIII's and some Vari-XII 's.Customer service (if needed) is Top Notch.
You left out quite a number of other manufacturers such as Zeiss,Swarovski,Schmidt&Bender,Nightforce,Shepperd(sp?),Nikon,to name afew.
I have no experience with these scopes, perhaps someone else can tell us more.

Top 5:(Mabey not quite in this order)

1.) Henshodlt
2.) US Optics
3.) Nightforce
4.) Schmidt and Bender
5.) Leupold

I love these threads  .

the best scope is the one that the shooter is the most comfortable with and other than price, there is very little difference between most scopes. I think that the service and repair that they offer is the most important thing. if they do not stand behind there product, do not waste your time.

IMHO, for optica alone, the best scopes are made by Zeiss and Swarovski. Be prepared for a titan cash outlay though...

My best band for the buck award has to go to the Leupold VXII and VXIII scopes.

LOL, you wussies, just pick one off the list. The fact that most of them are made by just two parent companies, and come out of the same 'great' factories shouldn't sway your opinion

What awful choices. That said, each of these companies has hit a pretty good bullseye once in a while with a well designed, well made scope, and some have made scopes for a pretty good bang-for-the-buck value. But sheeesh, what a choice.

I opted for Bush  nell....I feels durddy  Simply because of the 4200 series. Otherwise...eeeek.

I went trolling last night, and caught a ####tard.

He spooled about 100 yards of line off, so I shot him with my open sighted 30-30.

This poll sucks
