Who s hunting with the classics this season

I’m hunting with a classic this season... if 101 years old can be considered classic... goes by the name of Wilf, but I call him grand pappy... ;-P

So blessed to be able to share such a long standing family tradition with him :)

As for firearms, a 1955 Winchester 88 is about as classic as I can get.

I will miss hunting with my 99 year old father in law this year, his name was Clifford. He passed last year and hunting will not be the same without him. Good hunting to you and Grandpappy this year.

This years it’s my 1956 Brno ZG-47 in 9.3X62(rebarreled). Since this picture was taken, I’ve replaced the trigger with a Timney and the safety with a Pacific Model 70-style.

I’m sorry for your loss. We’ve lost a lot of classics over the years. An important part of November for me is sitting under an oak tree remembering them, and everything they shared over the years. I hope you have a successful season and plenty of good stories to share.

Cheers,

KJ

1906 Carl Gustav sported Swede. Loaded with 160 grain Imperial bullets. Back up is a 1948 FAZ No 4 Mk1 sported. 174 grain Hornady. These are for deer. I am saving some .303 215 KKSP for moose in the No 4.

Last month was the first time I took the 1885 out hunting in a few years as my new "favorite" rifle is my little Ruger RSI chambered in the classic 250-3000
