I have Spring Fever really bad right now. I can't wait to get out and start shooting something reactive. I just sold my T3 .223 and ordered a Model 12 LPV in .223 (approx 3 month wait and will probably re-barrel it to 20 VarTarg). Until then I'll use my Sako Quad in .22lr and try to get something when they decide to pop up. We've had such a long cold spell here in Sask that I think this is the worse case of Spring Fever that I think I have ever had.:bangHead:

Hahaha yeah it will be someone in southern Alberta for sure. Do you even have any snow left in Lethbridge?

I'd like to say me, but my guess would be there's someone with an acreage somewhere south of here with a rifle set up permanently pointed at a hole in their back yard with ammo in their pocket that will be first.
That's ok, I make up for lost time with quantity later.
Can't wait.

Maybe I should move out west! We are still buried out here in ontario. I was out rabbit hunting this week and there is still at least 2 feet of snow in the fields. Blaahh. It might be May before we see the ground.

Cool pics but all i see...is the possibility of Lyme disease...Make sure that when picking up dead rodents at the least wear gloves. I have shot so many gophers and varmints and picked them up and found ticks embedded in them that the possibility is very real. All that would have to happen is that the youngster grabbed the dead squeak the wrong way, brushed against his coat,a tick attaches itself and pretty soon at supper time he feels some thing crawling through his hair line and has already been bitten by a tick and the rest is history...

I know...I had it happen while out hunting Grizzlies. Warm day,we rested and I took my coat off and laid it down and enjoyed the view. 3 hours later at supper/dinner time I had bugs crawling through my hair line. Killed the first one then asked my guide/hunting buddy what the hell are these things...He replied TICKS...

He made me go into my room...check my hair line out about 3 times, strip down, check every piece of clothing that I had worn that day,,wash my hair in hot water, check the water then get redressed in new clothes then we sat in front of the fire place and he rechecked my clothing again....Turns out when I laid my coat down the little buggers had grabbed ahold of the cloth and rode with me for 3 hours or so....then showed up...

After this happened about 6 miles south of town I shot A squeak and saw the tell tale red /black abdomen of a tick. Its head was burried in the squeak and as I told my G/F friend at the time about ticks I bagged it in a plastic zippy bag, took it home then threw it in the freezer. She came home the next day and we found 7 of the little bugs that crawled out of it with the so called self induced cold weather...Lets just say that the bag and all hit the burning barrel REAL QUICK....

One year I was out shooting gophers near my house, and my big old Golden cross dog came along. He would run out and grab a dead one and bring it back to eat it. The bloody thing were full of worms!!!!
