3 (1) Any cartridge magazine
(a) that is capable of containing more than five cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in
(i) a semi-automatic handgun that is not commonly available in Canada,
(ii) a semi-automatic firearm other than a semi-automatic handgun,
Yup it does. Also doesn't the Makasi MK-15 use STANAG mags?... Bullseye states as much in their pre-order thread...
If a "stanag" style magazine was meant for an AR pistol, then 10rds are perfectly fine. Still sold most places...when yiu can find them in stock.https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-98-462/fulltext.html
The "commonly available in Canada" stipulation only applies to handguns. Unless there is a change in law, STANAG mags are limited to 5 regardless of which guns are available, because they were designed for use in semi auto firearms.

10 rounds still isn't 30.
The libs have been clear for awhile now that mags are in their crosshairs and restrictive measures will be forthcoming. It's an interesting point though, are people who then bought bolt action .223 or .308 rifles that take AR mags now breaking the law if they remove the rivets to use those mags in those rifles?
I do note that RCMP Labs did make a sneaky rush play to ban all bolt action rifles with removable magazines in the last round of legislative oppression, but not even Canada was going to put up with that and they had to withdraw that clause- for now. But where does that leave the mags?
Interesting thought. All my mags will be unpinned after October. No PAL = No rules![]()
When the government treats you like a criminal you need to act like one.Interesting thought.
I've taken oaths when young, but if they declare me outlawed things will change between my country and I.When the government treats you like a criminal you need to act like one.
