Why do I feel the need to get a Glock

A lot of people talk about the fit and feel of the Glock in their hand. When I was at the store today, me and the guys selling me the gun found something new about the Gen4 grips. The new gen4 (not older gen4 apparently) has beavertail backstraps instead of backstraps that don't go all the way up. Since you should be holding in the beavertail to stop the muzzle from climbing, the new backstrap seems to be a hit. This might be old news to some of you, but the guys at Reliable weren't aware of it lol.

Interesting Tridan, I wasn't aware of the change. I feel I get a high purchase on a gen 3 so this is good news if I get a gen 4.

Pretty sure the M&P's are taking the market by storm for price. You get a hard case, 3 mags, a speedloader, and some extra bits for somewhere around 600$...

Good point Colt.45, the M&P right now would be my second choice, a smoking package my son recently bought the M&P 9 R&C. Two things that took the M&P down a notch for my preference was the grip is a more traditional feel rather than the slab sides that get pressed well in my hands as the Glock does, and two we had to modify the magazine followers on all three mags when setting the gun up for left hand use. S&W were aware of this issue with certain generation of their followers, but unfortunately for me trying to obtain new ones were a pain in the ass here in Canuckistan. S&W took my address, asked how many I needed and were going to ship them out that very day, then got email later that day and the guy apologized saying "O MY God, You Live In Canauckistan, I can't ship to you sorry bout that". I went the S&W importer route here with no answer or no support so we will modify them ourselves.
Other than this tiny blip on an otherwise excellent package, the gun runs flawless right hand mag release set up, I love the M&P too and will purchase the M&P 45 when funds become available as probably my only 45 in the safe.

I was digging around a little while ago for a new 9mm,and settled on a Glock 17 from a gent here on the EE...I could not be happier..they work,..and aside from a little practice to get used to the trigger...she is great!...All kinds of extras out there too if one is inclined to tinker..

Everyone should have Glocks for variety. Only complaint is which ones to bring and what caliber. Tough choosing between the 17, 21, 22 or just bring the 357/44/50 revolvers; tough choice :p

Good for the larger hands that use the backstrap; same old for those that don't use backstraps.
