Why is everybody selling their S&W M&P's after only a few hundred rounds?

I just found it wasn't the right gun for me, particularly because I wasn't very accurate with it.. My reasoning is that because the frame is polymer, when the slide comes back, all the weight of the gun shifts back as well, creating more recoil and a less accurate shot.. Again this is just my opinion but after I sold it I bought the all metal framed CZ SP-01 shadow and I shoot very accurately with it

I found this very same thing, only I was shooting a friends CZ. I wanted to sell it so bad when I first shot it but this was my first restricted and money wasn't an issue so I just kept it and got a 1911. One day I was talking to a veteran shooter who gave me some pointers. This was also my first restricted and . But man, this thing is a pretty darn good shooter now!! and super easy to clean :)

My M&P 9 Pro is my favorite pistol. Super accurate, super reliable, super comfortable, and simply just a pleasure. I recently went through a financial meltdown and had to sell of as much of my gear as I could tolerate. The one pistol I held onto was the M&P. Unfortunately due to financial reasons I've been sticking to .22lr and haven't shot it in almost a year now.

Thanks,
Cal.

Don't you know the EE is the place to make money on used items. They go buy it new, play with it, shoot it, and then sell it for as much brand new cause you know anything under 1000 rds means it's still brand new!!

I just bought a range kit in 9mm and a .22, I know the 22 was hard to find but irunguns had some recently. I will let you know my opinion, I wanted a handgun that was very popular so parts wouldn't be a problem and I thought that mags would be easy to find. I plan on buying another 9mm and might go for a glock17 gen 4, since that seems to be pretty popular on these boards. Worse case, if you don't like them, you sell them on EE maybe for a small loss. But, I'm not that picky, I'm sure I will hold onto them for quite a while. As long as they work!

some of us buy guns like women buy shoes :p

most of my guns were bought sight-unseen. I did handle a glock before buying a glock, but I knew I was gonna buy a glock anyways so in a way for me that was just a formality. lack of plentiful handgun stores is why a lot of handguns have to be bought on "blind faith" and at times, it just doesn't work out so they get resold.

at least by some people. these folks have exposure to 50,000 guns throughout their life, but only a box of ammo on any one gun. it suits them fine - or rather, the gun DOESN'T suit them so it gets punted.

others buy, use, keep, adapt, amass, hoard, go bankrupt. i'm in this camp. we put dozens of boxes through a gun, adjust to how it does / doesn't work or fit, and then buy another new one for more flavours.

and with M&P being affordable, plentiful, and "a glock for those who hate glocks", it's no wonder there's TONS of them in circulation. people love to hate glocks, and for them the M&P is the non-glock glock.

i wouldnt say its a non-glock glock.

a glock is a glock.
they are light and they sit low in your hand and they are boxy.
and thats a good thing!
i love my glock and i have had it for years and i can hit a fly in the eye's with it!

but the M&P has a nice curvy feel to it that just fits nice where the glock is square and boxy.

when i take people out to show them some guns so they can get a nice overall view of guns so they can make an informed decision about which gun they might wanna buy i start them with a 1911 and tell them its 100 year old technology.
then i give them a Ruger p-89 and i tell them its 1980's technology.
then i give them a glock and i tell them its 1990's technology.
then i give them a M&P and i tell them its 2010 technology.

i have yet to show anyone those 4 guns at the range and have them not say they wouldnt take the M&P.

now, granted, i dont have a gen 4 glock.

now you know what would be interesting to see.
it would be cool if Glock got some smart marketing people like S&W has and floods the market with new Gen 4 range kits.
gun, 3-5 mags, up lula, holster and mag holders and case.
and make it 6-700 $ range.
THEN we will have ourselves a apple to apple comparison of sales!!!

THAT, sir, is a VERY ###Y PIC!! Thats almost as ###y as CamoCamelToe!!!

You will also find information about the mp tirgger being updated with APEX parts (apex tactical and a google search will bring the site).

MPs triggers have been upgraded along the way and these parts are no longer needed. This is true if you buy a MP9 or 40 that DOES NOT say stainless on the slide.

Hi, I'm not sure I follow you exactly...could you say it a different way?

Are newer M&P's not stamped "Stainless" on the slide anymore? Are they still made of stainless, but they just aren't stamping them?

And if I were to get one NOT stamped "Stainless" on it, does that mean it would have a newer improved trigger parts on it?

Or have I muddled all that up?

Not in my experience - while the current triggers are better than the older ones, they are not the equal of an Apex sear and USB. They also won't last as long, the Apex sear is tool steel and has a different profile.

I got mine just a little over a month ago. Got about 2500rd thru the barrel. I took a tactical training (shot about 1000rds), black badge (about 300rds), did one competition (250rds) and I have been practicing once a week since I got it. I have no regrets because before I bought it, I tried all the main brand of pistols and it came down to the M&P or a Springfield XDM. I got the M&P because of what you are getting for your money. I plan on keeping that pistol for a very long time.
