Why no SCAR or ACR export?

Bushmaster lists the MSRP in the US at $2,685.00 for their basic model... the US dealer cost is well above the $1,800.00 figure you mention so I'm not sure how you figure that it will sell for "under $1800 CDN"?

The enhanced version (with folding/adjustable stock and rails) has an MSRP of over $3,000 USD.

The ACR being marketed under the Remington brand is the LE/Military product line... the commercial product is being sold under the Bushmaster brand name. I can't speak for their Canadian plans but that's the situation in the US right now.

ACR is retailing for $2030

ACR Enhanced retailing for $2300 ... some posts on ARFCOM of enhanced models going for $2100. These are not selling for $2800 msrp. The price is dropping like a rock. No more Obama Scare.

Looks good for CDN MSRP.

Looks good for importing it yourself too! If dealers are selling cheap, find a FFL and make a deal. Might snag a basic ACR for $1900 and change, looks like I might be right after all.
No way these would sell here for $3000+.

A standard P-Mag did have issues with the the feed angle of the SCAR and other European Rifles....Hence the E-Mag to provide better performance. So if you did not want to run the Standard G.I mags - which work fine - but wanted to run a polymer mag, then the Magpul E-Mag would be the preferred choice

I have not heard anything about the Tapco mags

I have no first hand knowledge but from what I can find the SCAR uses 'IMPROVED M16 TYPE' magazines NOT standard AR 15 mags . You can use Emags in a AR 15 if you had to in a pinch but it is NOT recomended so I dont see how it would work the other way around.

SCAR Mags... the manual that comes with the SCAR says that the magazines are special and only for use in the SCAR however, the reality seems to be that they are standard AR-15 magazines with an FN base plate, and they do in fact use Magpul anti-tilt followers in them (stamped right on the follower).

We have tried a variety of standard GI type magazines in the SCAR and they all fit and drop free, including our LAR-15 ten round Pistol magazines. The only one we had issue with were the PMAG's. Standard PMAG's don't drop free... but the E-MAG does drop free.

ACR... the gun has a drop-in trigger/hammer assembly that looks like a standard AR but we'll need to remove one and take a closer look to see if it's compatible with Standard AR trigger parts... will update on this shortly.

ACR... It appears that the ACR is using standard trigger, hammer and pins... the spings appear to be slightly modified but very close to standard (one is bent a bit on one side and some are slightly shortened).

We tried installing a Rock River Arms 2-stage trigger and it drops in fine but would require a small amount of "fitting" at the rear of the trigger housing in order to fit perfectly with the selector switch (we've seen that before). Not quite enough movement to allow release of the hammer... but filing the top of the rear trigger housing should correct this.

So they kinda fit but not recomended by FN. I guess for range use you would be fine but in a life or death situation you wouldnt risk kinda working mags in the SCAR.

Seems like FN did this on purpose to sell their own mags....

It's BS... side by side comparison with a "standard" AR type aluminum magazine shows the ONLY difference is the name stamped on the base plate.
