I leave my Witch at home when I shoot 3gun matches. *
please don't tell her I said that![]()
I'm glad someone finally brought that up.
As far as the setup, you have a few pistols that will all work fine. The .45s will get costly to shoot though. The shotgun obviously will work just fine, but for the carbine, you really should consider getting an AR to be competitive. The manual of arms on your SKS will just slow you down and in the end you will find you don't have as much fund if you can't be competitive. A lot of ranges won't let you shoot the steel core anyways. The JR might be the better choice if you are allowed to run pistol caliber carbines, plus 10 round capacity. Leave the SKS at home. Plus all that magnification will slow you down trying to find your targets. You can get a nice Stag Arms or Core for 1k or a DPMS or Windam for like $800. Nobody say Norc.

I'm with you Mr. Running. I'm generally happy with finishing in the top 2/3rds. I have rickety legs and am 70 years young so my priorities are different. I'm there to be safe, have fun and enjoy the fellowship. I've only just started checking my scores and frequently forget to. I'm really happy when I get through a match without a major screw up or brain freeze. No body can beat me the way I play the games.
