Im fine with the barrel, what I really want is is one in .300blk. I sold my AR-15 in .300blk last September, to make money towards a dream gun, thinking I’d build another down the line. Now I’m #### out of luck unless some manufacturer builds something new. And preferably non restricted.

Seriously, if you have an AR or a pistol already, it doesn't really matter if you register another one. The idea that SBRing a NR will make it more pronged to being banned later is completely naive. Think of all the mini-14 and M14 they have banned. It doesn't matter. They know exactly what it is outthere, NR or R means nothing as they have already shown. It is not even a consideration. Instead of scared of SBRing a NR, you should pray that the next crazy guy or terrorist won't end up with your favorite NR - that will get your NR banned whether someone had SBRed your favorite NR into R or not.
If you have a PAL, they know you have guns. Buy a NR and a R, if you want to have fun both outside and inside the range. Personally, I have enough AR I am probably on their #### list anyways so I will gladly buy more R rated SBR.

Yep, there are also Restricted-SBR TAVOR, B&T, ACR, KRISS, G36.....and a bunch of other semi shotguns.......etc etc The people who are telling others not to SBR the NR because they think it will screw the NR status have no basis at all. If they want to ban it, they will ban it like they did to Mini14 and M14. No one SBR those things.
I agree. It’s no secret that the WK and WS are flying off shelves across the country.
In my particular situation, I have no access to shooting outside my range, and I have a handgun and a restricted Vector, so why not put a shorter barrel on my WK and register that as well? All three guns go in the same case anyway.

To R a NR, pretty sure a FRT entry needs to be created this mean a gun needs to be sent to the lab. For this reason, I definitely will not want to be "that guy" who sends the rifle to create the FRT.
However, anything that is imported into Canada must have a FRT # because commercial import permit won't be issued for firearms without FRT.
So if you want to R a NR, pick a model that already has a FRT or it is an import. That will be just a matter of ending up with a child FRT# for your SBR version.

A quick Google search would have saved you from writing this. The WK180C is in the FRT. You can search the FRT at armalytics.ca. I recommend everyone carry a print out of the FRT entries for all their firearms when transporting them.
Does Armalytics tell you how many people have done it?
I don't get much of the appeal of SBRs (I'm not against them I just find them to be louder, less accurate and no more useful), given they're for range use only it really makes no difference to me whether I have say a 16 inch or 18.5inch barrel when on the range.
It doesn't say how many. I do a bunch of CQC LARPing at the range I'm at as I'm lucky have an action range that actually allows responsible fun. There's a huge difference between the handling characteristics of a 10.5" barrel over an 18.7" (WS-MCR with full length handguard and medium profile barrel), especially once you factor in weight, where the weight is and all that. I don't use brakes on SBRs and use a flash hider instead so there's actually not much difference in noise. Accuracy wise, it doesn't matter to me as the action range is 20 yards at most.
I don't do much lane shooting unless it's for zeroing of for bolt gun stuff.

What’s your thoughts on the 10.5 vs 11.5 vs 12.5 lengths?
I'm just a LARPer and don't know a lot of stuff (always open to learning) so as far as 10.5 vs 12.5 goes, I'm going to have to just say that according to the people that seem to know a hell of a lot more about this stuff than I do, 12.5" is now the recommended length (for an actual SBR) if you want to retain better ballistics. I believe it's anything over 11.5 all the way up to 14.5" has acceptable ballistics for up to mid-range distances and isn't as hard on parts as 10.5" is.
So I'd personally go with 12.5" or 11.5" on the WK.
Yeah, that's exactly what my research says. I think the ideal barrel length is 11.5" if going short, but it seems 12.5" is more readily available, and these days, something good that's available is better than the best thing that's perpetually out of stock.
