The thing about guns that nobody seems to acknowledge or maybe to not understand is that once people are turned into paper criminals just by possessing a firearm, there is no reason not to unpin mags, convert to FA and add a silencer. Once the gun is banned, the penalties for the other stuff won't be any worse.

Also there is no money for a "buyback" or any foreseeable way to implement it. The Libs have bitten off more than they can chew on this one. Good for optics not so much for implementation. Basically this has been so far overreaching that all gun owners seem to be unified to be peacefully non complying, really nobody cares anymore and are tired of this (I am speaking about the non-CGN that I have spoken to).

I'm taking this as prophetic, hopefully this ruling will then null and void their pistol ruling as well

Forget the court. The OIC will still be in affect. It is legal and won't be undone until we see a change in Govt. The AR situation won't change. I would not expect much from the courts on legislation that hasn't passed. Again, change the Govt and C21 disappears with new legislation. We are going to have laws restricting the use and ownership whether we like it or not it just becomes a question of what might be reasonable and politically possible.

With Sask. having written some gun legislation and Alberta contemplating writing their own Firearms Act it may be a case where the Feds bow out of this topic leaving it up to the Provinces to decide what is reasonable and what is not. The latter would be a boon to most of the West and North. Quebec and Ont
not so much.

I REALLY want an AR-10 but didn't have the cash when they were available.

Same. Was looking at a BCL102 not that long ago. Waited too long and then the OIC hit and by then I got a WK180C as a somewhat consolation price even though it was on a different platform. Would still like to hopefully have an opportunity to get an AR10 platform at some point in my life, hopefully in Canada....but at this point I ain't holding my breath anytime soon.
