Would You Carry A Pocket Pistol?

Where I live now I wouldn't carry even if I could, but if I ever felt otherwise, it wouldn't be a pea shooter

Yeah I REFUSE to bet my life and trust my safety to a "cap gun". Yes I'm fully aware even a .22LR will kill you but just because you can doesn't imply you should. Glock 20. I'm still debating about a backup gun in this hypothetical.

I think, Tyler, that you and some of the fellers MAY be misunderstanding the intent of these guns.

I got beat up a lot as a kid at school (I know, right? I can't imagine why either...!!!) But I learned an important lesson from that: it didn't matter how big or tough the bully was, when you started fighting, you laid as much of a beating on him as you possibly could! It didn't matter if you beat him - just as long as you hurt him enough to make it worth his while to pick on somebody else.

So it goes with these guns: just the presence of the gun is enough to deter an attack. If I was a turdie or a jacknasty bent on mischief...I wouldn't dare a gun whether it was a .44 or a .25. I would go looking for easier game...

Maybe so but I remember an Israeli police officer shot a terrorist at point blank range 15 times with 9mm Beretta to have absolutely no effect. Another one where a man was shot 20 times with a .22LR from 6 feet away and lived. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2008/04/03/nyregion/03shot.html?referrer=&_r=0

And another in my "second home" in NYC http://m.nydailynews.com/news/crime...broke-record-forensic-expert-article-1.203631

A SEAL shot 27 times plus a grenade??? He lived! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/navy-seal-shot-27-times-5430909

Take that for what it's worth.

Gunshot wounds are more about location than caliber, and most defensive use of firearms doesn't require killing. So a small gun all the time beats a big gun half the time.

Air Marshall Mordechai Rachamim might disagree with you as would the rifle armed terrorist that he stopped permanently.

I agree that if you know that you're going into harms way, a .22 LR would not be my first choice, heck no handgun would be. But a .22LR or .25ACP in hand when mortal danger comes your way is better than bare hands, feet, elbows, knees, foreheads and teeth.

I wasn't there with Rachamim so I won't tread much.

Any firearm... or ANY WEAPON is better than an empty handed if it's DO OR DIE. That said? There is a genuine reason why capacity limit need to go the way of Old Yeller. At the VERY LEAST? BRINKS, G4S, Churchill, Garda, etc. should be exempt. Hauling money and/OR other valuables is extremely dangerous as it is.

Agreed, I'm sure that the magazine in HOC SAA Kevin Vickers' S&W pistol was not restricted in magazine capacity.

Guns in the hands of good people are a good thing.

Yep. IIRC? He's exempt from the FA since he's the SAA.

I'm also more than certain that if the US had no right to bear arms??? Brinks and all the armored guards up here wouldn't be able to carry even a beating stick..... errrr.... baton.

I would much rather cc a compact pistol like a Glock 19 but I would carry a pocket pistol if that all that were allowed. Which would be way better than the situation we have here now.

Kel Tek P32 with the 10rd mag extension. The 380 is to snappy for my grip.

Second choice is a Kimber Raptor Ultra Carry, The gripframe is big enough to hold, made of light alloy for weight reduction, and small enough to carry in my pocket unnoticed.
