congratuf$#@inglations your my hero
I hope the little girl that fed him a bottle for 5 months cries
Would I shoot someones pet dog? If you cant keep your dog in your yard YES I will shoot it, I will not apologize, show remorse or sympathy. If you care about your pet you will take care of it. If you have a problem with little girls crying think about the little girl who will be crying when she finds out that her entire family died in a car crash caused by someones pet dog or dogs chasing cattle onto the highway.

Living close to the diverse GTA, I'm sure I can find a few families who would love to eat dog!!!!

I voted yes, have shot some myself. No biggy, bunnies are cute too! If everyone shot trophies we would soon degrade the gene pool. Your trophies grew big because someone else decided to shoot a doe or lesser buck! Think about it.

"Obviously someone has a pet out there. In all seriousness, would you shoot Buttons?"

How much are they offering to pay all the hunters that let "Rainbow" walk?? Nothing you say.

Boooom!!!!

With the time I have available to hunt, if "Buttons" walked out - kafrigginboom. I'm not a horn hunter, even if they are rainbow colored.

If "Buttons" walked out with other deer I'd pick the biggest one of the bunch. And if "Buttons" was the biggest deer -kafrigginboom.

Come on people, its a wild animal even if it was bottle fed for 5 months. Worst thing that girl's father could have done was allow her to try and domesticate a wild animal. Shoot the deer and buy the girl a dog.

Hi,

I live in Qc, and here, there is only 1 tag per/hunter so if button would walk in front of me while hunting, I would definately shoot him. We apply for doe tag every year and this year I was lucky enough to win one so during black powder season, a nice doe came my way and I took her  .

Having the opportunity to shoot more in a season, like some friends in Ontario that can get up to 7 tags, maybe, I say maybe I would not shoot "rainbow" but it's not the case here isn't it.

Like some mentionned, the meat of a young deer 2-3yrs old is better tasting and more tender then their 4-5 yrs old conterparts. I have shot some nice big deer over the years and enjoyed every bit of the hunt as much as I did for the doe I took this year :dancingbanana: .

If they want a pet, just keep it home, otherwise, it's open season and no one should argue about that and none should be pissed at the hunter who would take him. The deer is legal and taking him also is. What's not legal is what these people did to him. Wild animals are sometimes nice to look at in your backyard but trying to make a pet out of him will only decrease his chance to survive in the wild.

So, for a hunter's point of view, there is no reason not to shoot him, unless your a trophy hunter, in the contrary, shooting him would be the right thing to do.

Just my opinion

I didn't read the whole thread... but ya I would shoot buttons... only because I don't think "Buttons" exists , just some person stating they don't want the deer hunted in that area. Buttons is fair game!

Jesus loves Buttons and wants Buttons with him in heaven, thats why his antlers are painted bright red in hunting season.
So it would be the christian thing to do what Jesus wants. :)

If it's a question of shooting a young animal VS a more mature animal, that's a matter of personal choice. I'd do the same, especially on Moose.:) I prefer a one - two year old bull. Making a 'pet' of a basically wild animal may be wrong, however, if its obviously a pet, let it go. Surely you don't need the meat that bad.:(

Well the problem with that is , some idiot parent did not school their child on wild animals, and that they must not be considered pets. Its wrong for the child and certainly wrong for the animal that now has no fear of people, and could become a danger to motorists . I hope folks understand this :( Not to mention that after having human contact , it will be rejected by the doe, and now you have a yearling deer that will struggle through winter depending on what it incounters. And the kid is at home expecting to have a great summer ahead with its old friend Buttons. Disney you suck! :(

Some bleary-eyed kid pictured next to a cold and stiff "Buttons" would make fine front page material for the Toronto Globe and Mail. One small shot for the hunter... one huge victory for a pack of Liberal-lefty anti's. Just my 2 pennies worth!

I would shoot buttons on a second deer tag, it would just eventually piss me off so much I would just shoot it..... I go to the woods hunting to be in a natural environment, and that deer isn't natural.....
