Question: Can you still buy the pistol, I noticed that it is no longer featured on Canadaammo... any information on this?

Answer: No more manufactured by Norinco. .... shoot

BTW here is a photoshop I did for polskadude who is interested in painting his pistol.

My M213

I sandblasted the finish off, which also took out some of the epoxy putty from the safety holes. Cant wait for my new grips to arrive.

NICE job...that looks awesome!!

pretty cool. IT has a tight chamber-no? I was at a new IPSC shooters house,..he had a bad case jam. I needed a hammer to get it out.

That looks FANTASTIC Polskadude!

And note that I didn't quote all the damn pictures again for the sake of the folks still on modem and just because it's proper forum etiquette.... Especially with so many pictures.... :D

What did you use for painting the gold parts? Or are they actually plated?

Yes. I`m still working on it with fine sandpaper...getting a bit better each time out. Also has to go thru more than a few boxes of ammo before things start to smooth out.

If it's that tight you should probably take it into a smith and have them run a 9mm reamer into it. The sandpaper will eventually ease the tight spots but at the same time you're risking the chamber opening up too much in some other parts that need to properly support the casing.

Hahaha, no no, i didnt acutally plate the parts. I used Krylon Metallic "Brilliant" Gold for the parts and Krylon Metallic "Brilliant" Silver for the frame and magazine. 3 light coats, then 1 coat of Krylon clear. Well see how long before it wears off.

Well I finally took the twins out to the range on Friday (yes, yes I know "what took me so long!").

Thought I'd share my findings. I was using AE 9mm 147 grain flat point (the dreaded truncated cone). After loading a clip and putting it the M213 had a ##### of a time chambering the first round. Rack, rack, and rack again. After it cambered the first round it was smooth sailing. No FTF or FTE.

So I tried the second pistol, same thing. An absolute PIA to camber a round but afterward smooth sailing

Needless to say I was a little less than pleased but figured for a 99$ pistol I could live with the first round cambering woes.

So I was loading the other mags to see if more rounds would solve the cambering issues and noticed something interesting. If your not careful loading the last round it will tilt downward slightly toward the magazine base resulting in a more horizontal position instead of the proper upward angle. Tapping the long side of the mag on the range table corrected the angle of the rounds.

Well with the rounds "correctly" loaded the chambering issues were a thing of the past. Ran five or six magazines though each pistol and everything was A OK. No more cambering issues, FTF or FTE.

Now I'm really impressed with the performance of the cheapie M213's. A tip of the hat to Canada Ammo for a great deal on a great little pistol.

As a final note, I even managed to fire off both pistols John Woo style :D Pretty sure the other range guys got a kick out of the grinning idiot ;)

I did that too, was fun as hell when you have both go off at the same time, you cannot hit anything like that though.

Someone else, will not name names but he knows who he is, tried it too, lets just say he can hit the broad side of a picnic table.

For a 125 buck gun (the total cost) and for my first handgun I think the thing is easily worth the price and then some. Only downfall is that it is way too small to grip with two hands. I guess they made it that way since your other hand should be used to carry the flag into battle.

I put all 8 through my two 213's John Woo style as well. There was a 2 x 3 foot target only 5 yards away and I only got 12 of the 16 even on the paper. When you're firing two of them fast they PUSH like crazy!

I'm going to try it again now that I know what to expect..... :D

Pageophile, check the upper rear lip of the magazines for a little scuff mark. If you see a mark there use a small fine file to cut a shallow U shape. If you look on the slide just at the front face of the firing pin face there's an extra ridge. On one of mine that I switched over to the Lever Arms magazines this extra ridge would catch on the upper rear lip when trying to chamber the first round. It may be that the stock magazines are doing the same thing to your gun. Once loaded it seemed to bounce over the lip but it was obviously an issue by the looks of the silver wear mark on the magazines.

Or it may just be the shape of the bullet nose if there's no mark on the magazines.

I just bought some Krylon paint and did the same thing lol, not as smooth, but looks good. Too bad the Mags gets marred after you slide them in :(

maybe i need more clearcoat, but it dulls ths shine :D

Pic's? I didnt use alot of clearcoat, 1 thin coat. Like you said, it dulls the shine.

Anyone have pics of the rubber grips, trimmed and such so that they fit perfect? Im still waiting for mine and I dont want to screw up the trimming, any tips?

....Only downfall is that it is way too small to grip with two hands. I guess they made it that way since your other hand should be used to carry the flag into battle.

Keep in mind that back when these were designed and made originally it was normal to shoot with one hand only flag or not in the other... :D

When I realized this I tried mine with one hand and actually managed to shoot just as well. The need to hold it with two in such a way that doesn't rest an errant finger on the slide just gets too crowded and the support normally expected from two hands seems to just not be there when using the original grips.

This may well change with the fuller and longer slip ons and the wood grips I'm planning on making for mine.
