WOW! Chrome and Two Tone Norinco 1911 IN STOCK!!!

I ended up doing my own trigger job. It's my first time doing any sort of gunsmithing. I followed some how to videos on YouTube, and I tell ya it turned out great!! Very crisp and much lighter. I don't have a gauge so I can't tell you the exact amount of pull, but it's several pounds lighter than stock.

My two-tone should be here this week and this is one of the first things I plan on doing. Any reference to the vid you used?

Unless you have the proper tools....stones/jig etc I would strongly advise against trying a dyi trigger job on a 1911. You can create a very unsafe firearm.

X2!^^ Yes DYI trigger jobs from a youtube vid without proper tools is a very bad idea especially on a 1911 !!! I dont even see why you need a trigger job , the factory norc trigger is pretty darn good out of box , at least on my 3 .. The only reason i would want a lighter trigger is for a competition target pistol, something the norc will never be anyway.. Be very careful and hold on to it tight when you shoot it , it could do a full auto burst or could even fire the instant you chamber a round if the trigger job was not done just right .

Very true. Messing around polishing 1911 triggers and engagement surfaces is like playing with fire unless you know what youre doing and have the proper tools and jigs. Last thing you want is an unintentional discharge or a full auto 1911. Its not just your safety at risk but those of the other shooters at the range.

i dunno... a full auto 1911 sounds pretty good to me. :nest:

off topic, but i got mine, and it is nice. i like it. finish looks great. Can am included a ####load of zombie targets, can am targets, m16 pen, 2 gun magazines. Hell of a deal! thats how you get people to come back and buy from you again!!!

I never actualy took any metal off the sear, just polished the surface. The hammer hooks I squared up because I Had a stone. And I polished up the rest of the parts in the video. I made sure no to over do it, I didn't shorten the hammer hooks or anything. Id say the hammer pull is around 5lbs, as comapared to around 8lbs when I got it out of the box. (just going by feel). I didn't over do it and try to go for a 2 1/2lbs pull or anything. I will take it to the range this week, and I report on how the trigger job worked out.

Congrats!! You finally went for it. I am waiting on the transfer to come through for my two tone, cant wait!
Yes, I was talking to Dan at CanAm, and it sounds like a nice gun. I am lucky to have Rodger Kotanko, a very good 1911 gunsmith about 45 minutes from me and I have been talking to him about getting a gloss hard chrome job on my SAM, so he can work on this one also. He likes Norincos. He has a .40 cal. double stack made by them with his name on it, so Norinco parts should not be a problem for him. I am going to talk to him soon to see what kind of info I can get from him on adj. rear sights for this gun. He may even have something there.

Those are adjustable I thought, no?
Cool about the gun smith. That would be something I would consider getting done pending price of course. I do not like spending value of the firearm on just looks. Make sure to send pics once its done!

I was thinking of maybe fiber optic sights. I have them on my others. The Williams Fire Sights on my Ruger are adjustable and very nice. It was suggested somewhere on the forum, maybe this tread, that the sights for a Colt fit and Williams makes an adjustible set for Colt series 80's. I don't know enough about it to speak as to the validity of this, but Mr. Kotanko should be able to tell me whether they will work. I am ordering this for it to change the grips and address the plastic MSH.

Hey heads up to all the guys who bought these pistols , i have a all chrome full size and i removed the rear sight and found some fairly heavy corrosion on the slide under the rear sight and on the bottom of the sight . I would remove your rear sight and sand the rust off the slide and bottom of the sight with fine grit sandpaper , make sure you remove the elevation screw, flip the sight leaf up then remove all the allen set screws before you tap it off with a plastic or wood mallet . Mine came off easy , im guessing this happened because the finish was applied with the rear sight attached and chemicals got stuck under the sight to corrode , after sanding mine looks good only very minor pitting thats not visible with the sight installed , so get at it soon .

I will be upgrading the rear sight soon , the slide looks to be cut for a LPA not Bomar type sight but the dovetail looks to be GI size?
