WOW! Chrome and Two Tone Norinco 1911 IN STOCK!!!

Mine shoots not bad. Groupings are inconsistent, but barrel is very sloppy. It's sold next week. It is a very nice gun, I just don't have the ability to make it a good shooter.

Just ordered my chrome compact! I just couldn't resist this deal.
I'm amazed that they can offer a new Norinco for the price of used ones! Free shipping & warranty too!? Whaaaaaa?
And when the wife sees the pic & says, "I love that! You should just get it now!"... I've learned, the hard way, not to hesitate. ;-)

Cheers Can-Am!

Well I bought one today as well Money Cop, but mine is sitting waiting for me at CanadaAmmo until my RPal arrives from back east. Used to shoot my friends .45 in IPSC shoots and always admired it. Now I will finally own my own at a reasonable price. Gonna be a tough 2 months to wait till the CFC send me my paperwork.....

My chromed compact made in last week. These are amazing bang for your buck guns. I got a two tone from a previous group, and I have to say the this new compact is much nicer. That being said my two tone has always been one of my favorites.

Little bit concerned after seeing this picture from Jimmym as to the finish. I wonder if disassembling it first and deburring the frame and pieces will help prevent this from happening? I'm hoping mine won't do this!

Welcome chook!

After some research, it seems my best defense against that scrape is to de-burr any rough surfaces BEFORE I even rack it once.
It's gonna be the 1st thing I do when the beauty arrives!

I had no issues with deburring mine. I have 2 small wear marks but within my tolerance.

Last night I attempted to swap my mainspring housing with a nice stainless ed brown magwell housing. As I hate the plastic one. Unfortunately it did not fit. I am left wondering if a gunsmith could machine it so it slides in?

I am having some issues with the mags. Both of them. When I rack the slide back with the mag the slide stays back. I release the slide and rack it again and the slide does not stay back. I rack it again and again and it will not stay back with the mag in like its supposed too. And the mag is impossible to get out. I have to have the slide in half rack and literally rip the mag out. I have taken the gun apart 4 times and can't figure it out. It racks perfectly over and over with all the other 1911 mags that I have so I've narrowed it down to the mags. Both of them. Any one else experience this?any solutions?

Thanks for the welcome. :) I guess this may sound like a new guy question, but that's ok, gotta learn at some point. I've owned plenty of guns, still have two prohibited handguns, but I've NEVER owned a .45 . I watched on youtube as a guy disassembled his .45 and he pulled the slide back towards the hammer to disassemble it. If the gun has rough burrs that will mark the frame as shown in the picture from Jimmym. Is it possible to disassemble the gun by sliding the slide forward instead of backwards perhaps to avoid this?

***Never mind, answered my own question, watched another video on youtube and that guy did indeed slide the slide forward. Looks like either way you're going to mark the frame if you're not careful. I'll take the spring out first and slowly slide it back or forward depending on how it feels/looks for tightness.***

It's a Norinco man, the whole thing about them is that given their price, one need not worry much about scratches and whatnot too much.

Point taken Nintendo, but it'll have to be disassembled anyway, so no point in NOT deburring it. In any case, I'll go through it completely. Since I retired, the endless supply of cash seems to have dried up a bit, ;-) so $350 is something I have to think about nowadays.

Fair enough. If I were retired I'd likely do the same.

So took my 1911A1C out today and have to say I am pleasantly surprised and happy with the pistol. Considering I haven't fired a 1911 platform in over 10 years, pretty happy camper. Ran 100 rounds through her and only one fail to feed, and that was a crappy reload. Played with the sights a bit and at 25 yards pretty happy.
Couple high flyers , but hey first time out with her.

silly question but you did compare the non working mags with the others that worked right? only thing I can think of is perhaps the little tab on the follower that pushes up on the slide stop lever is a bit shifted so the lever is binding and wedging the mag in making it hard to release the mag. But that's just a guess on my part.

The lower follower is likely skipping over and then catching on the upper side of the inner slide release. It happens with Norc GI mags sometimes. Take a look at the follower, I bet you'll see a little notch/burr on the lower lip of it that's allowing it to do so. Not sure what the fix for it is.
