WOW! Chrome and Two Tone Norinco 1911 IN STOCK!!!

Just got my Transfer Notification today. Ordered Jan. 22, Date recieved at CFO Jan. 23, Date on Transfer Notification Jan. 24. One day for B.C. is really good. The model on the transfer is 1911-A1 Sport. So it looks like it is the same gun as the bold typists has on his page??

Received my transfer letter from the CFO but Can Am still hasn't shipped or acknowledged that the transfer went through.
Pretty bad when the CFO and Canada Post is faster than Can Am. Not complaining -- just a statement of fact.
Have notified them by email.

You get notifications of transfers from the CFO?
I just order and a pistol arrives in the mail a week or so later. Certificates usually show up within a week of the transfer.

I have actually received my certificate already in the mail. But there has been no notification of ship. I did have a notification referencing the CFC and that was what was being waited on.
Not a big deal, perhaps just a breakdown in comms from the CFC.

Sending an email to CanAm.

Who cares about the sights? Change them out or realize those are way better sights than any Norinco these past 20 years.
Well chromed sights may be a tad hard to see when you are actually trying to aim the gun.... Just want to know BEFORE the order is placed as that will play a factor in the decision

Hitzy, they probably forgot to mask off the sights when they sprayed the gun silver. No problem, a little varsol and a Q-tip will take care of that. LOL.

I believe they are chrome plated. Not sure why you think they're painted. Chromium is just the chemical name for chrome.
As someone else said, it's probably the same process that is used for the inside of their barrels.

Being a woman, I can admit when I may be wrong. They are a type of metal plating, but not exactly like hard chrome. It is as durable as the hard chrome we are thinking of, but thinner. This means it will not affect the tolerances of even the finest fitted parts. Here, I found this for you to read.

I ordered a full size chrome one right when I saw them... I don't know why, but I REALLY REALLY felt like I needed it. It'll go nice with my black 1911A1C model, which I am pleased with. Got 1000 rounds through it and am dealing with my first jamming issue, though I THINK it's the magazine I was using. Won't know till this weekend when I hit the range! ;)

yes indeed, I want the full size chrome to compliment my black A1C! but im holding off until I see some pics of the finish.

I dont get why can am cant take better pics. they know we all want them. and its neither hard to do nor does it take much time

i like the in-your-face gloss like this.

i think it is nickel though

** this is not canada ammos chrome 1911 ** (I wish it was thoug)

do these chomes ones shine like this?

Too shiny for my tastes, though I'd just love a Colt Python with a longer barrel that is as shiny as that! Too bad that would cost way too much for me, hence why I have a few Norinco guns ;)

...oneday I will get the ruger sr 1911 its a beautiful well made gun

I think this chrome Norinco I ordered will be my last cheap 1911. I'm eyeing a Ruger SR1911 for my higher quality 1911 as well. Then I'll have to start buying non-1911 pistols ;) I think I'll go with a Beretta 92 after that.

Canpar came by today. Looks like the crybabys from the 1911 combo thread have got their way!!! They have really _ucked it up for the rest of us!!!!!!! With all the orders last year, me and the Canpar guy had it worked out on my deliveries!! Now it is right by the book. I still never heard of one gun stolen when delivered by Canpar?? Just a lot of whining by a few as I said _ucked it up for the rest of us!!!!:kickInTheNuts:

What did you get, the chrome Norinco 1911 from this thread?

Mine has just shipped. Waiting patiently for a week while it wends it way to Ontario.
Some people are lucky to be in BC where all the action seems to be.
Already have my registration and that's a first -- usually the gun comes first.

I think you need to sign for it in person thanks to all the whining in other threads. That's why I ask them to ship mine Canada Post.
I can go pick it up more easily at the Post Office.

The Canpar guy is coming back tomorrow and I hope I have done enough for him to leave it ??????
