I rarely expect anyone at the big shops to know a whole lot. Most are paid a #### wage, and how about those benfits??
I expect at the Car dealership there are huys trying to push a new car on you, and I suspectthere are new guys that don't know the in's and outs of all the carss they sell, all the cars people own, etc etc etc.
They make their sales pitch and based on their knowledge ability, either sell or don't sell.
If I go to a gunshop to buy a Stevens 200, I could crae less who sells it to me. Same with a Marlin lecer, etc etc. No one behind the counter is gonna "sell" me on a common gun of common calibre, I'll just buy it and porbably know as much they do about it.
If I want to go chat about reloading for my .35Whelan or what type of bullets to put down the .505, I'll probably ask fosomeone with experience.
It's just a job to a lot of the counterstaff.
Just as I don't expect the staff at KFC to know where their potatoes come from, what breed chicken they cook etc etc. I however do expect they'll try and sell me on whatever gimmiks they can, like the extra crispy and so on.
As long as I know what I want, and they can sell it to me, there isn't much issue.
I can't stand however the guys that go to the gunshop for half the day, buy nothing, and watch to see what guns people are looking at so they can inject their oppinions.
