How many do you own?
I'm wondering as well.
How many do you own?
Doesnt everyone think what they have is the best? If you didnt how can a person justify spending the money on a product that they dont like. Its the same Ford, Chev, Dodge argument and you will always have loyalists in every camp...I cant say one bad thing about my XCR its been reliable, accurate and I like the looks of it to....If it were a piece of junk it would have been gone long ago..Unless you like the BP type rifle its the closest thing to a military rifle you can use to shoot gophers with...If I had to pick only one 223 to keep it would be the XCR hands down...The only way it would be listed on the EE is if something else cought my attention and I couldnt afford to have bolth..
The EE is a odd thing sometimes...I was shopping for SIGs and nothing was around so I paid premium money to get what I wanted...The last few weeks there has been tons of them for sale JMO
Perhaps I'm alone, but I can justify owning a piece of equipment that is not necessary the "best" by rationalizing its cost, performance, and intended role. If the tool fills all these criteria on a satisfactory level then its good enough for me. I drive a 1990 Honda Accord, 4 door with rust. Its not the best car but for the price, the performance(mileage folks, not horsepower) and its intended role, its an excellent choice. I'd like a Porsche or an Audi or a BMW or... Furthermore, the "best" of something is often times a personal opinion. Not always one supported by logic or facts either.
The XCR is nowhere near the closest thing you can own that represents a military pattern rifle. The XCR and all of the other RA offerings have never been used by a military. An Enfield, VZ/CZ, SKS, Swiss Arms, Tavor, K98, even the K31 have all been or are currently in use by a military force. All of which are non restricted.

I didn't buy my XCR-L because it had anything to do with being a military firearm I bought it because it is the best semi-auto rifle of its kind available too me for hunting...

But in MY opinion...
Point made and I do agree...But in MY opinion the XCR is best and thats where I chose to spend/invest my money.....Again it is of my OPINION ONLY that the XCR is BEST... And in MY OPINION the XCR is the best looking militry type rifle...Yes I understand that there are non restricted military rifles available but thet do not appeal to me look or function wise .... **disclaimer** from now on any comment I make on any subject from now on will be just a matter of my OPINION and not held as fact..
I really dont want to argue with you or anyone else ...I come to this board to learn and make some friends. So I am sorry If I offended you with my rude comments..Lets just agree to disagree![]()
Be sure to put "In My Opinion" at the end, otherwise us AR guys will assume you're trying to defend that statement with fact, which of course is just not true....And honestly its a better more reliable system/design than the AR.

I don't think anyone here is angry, some of us just like to throw our poop at each other from time to time, it's all in good fun though...![]()
You mentioned it was the best-looking rifle (beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder), but I'm curious what it is that you like about it so much? If it was restricted - would you feel the same way?
I dont know it just looks good and with an AR stock and grip its really nice looking IMO ..Maybe I'm lucky and have a good one because mine performs perfect.... I do like the AR platform and its all I would own if it were non restricted (okay its the truth) ..If SHTF it would be an AR for several reasons ... so if the XCR was restricted it would have a short barrel for sure but not likely in my safe because the cost is only justified by its classification IMO
A bonus is the LAR15 mags also....Like I said earlier once someone comes to market with a lower for the swiss (and has to look good) I will be all over that and my XCR might be on the EE. Or if the FN Scar is nonrestricted I might wait in prey for someone to have money problems and snap one up on the EE and that might also make me sell??
Off topic ..Does anyone know if the M&P15's buffer tube is mil spec or commercial? thanks
Another XCR thread full of fail!
The real reason people are buying them is because they want to look as good as me; they are selling when they realize how hard of a job it is.
And that's the truth!
