WTF!? why so many XCR for sale?

Comes and goes, people are a fickle bunch, less than 2 months ago the same can be said about Tavors. take a look at the number of Noveske popped up since the new year, you might think there is something wrong with them as well, hell I can even remember a run of SA rifles awhile back.

The most likely scenario is people going through their safe to clear up some safe queens to fund other projects, so the high dollar least used items always goes first.

For $2500 you can score a used Swiss which is better then an AR and XCR

Thats a matter of opinion sir....and yes I would have a swiss and will have one when some decent looking lowers come out to accept lar15 pistol mags...

And yes 50calshooter face palm all you want....You need to open your wallet and buy an xcr so you can speak from personal knowledge and not envy ..I have seen you hatin on xcr's before and cant figure it out...If I thought there was a better rifle out there it would be in my safe.. Just like last weeks thing for me (and I thank you for helping me 50calshooter) was the tac 21...another kick ass rifle thats now in my collection :)

I believe 50calshooter is speaking with the evidence of 40 years of service in several dozen countries, over a dozen being NATO nations and countless LE departments. Your range time or bush time with an unproven design by a company with zero track record for quality service rifles carries little weight in this debate.

ETA: As for the reason so many are up for grabs. Its a combination of the novelty wearing off, new offerings, and tight finances.

I think that a lot of the used XCR sales can be attributed to the guys who want the "newest great thing" or the ones who have tasted the flavour of their new toy and now crave the next; as has been stated by others in this thread.

Another key factor which cannot be overlooked is that many are selling the early XCRs; the ones which suffered from problems with the gas block, sh*tty triggers and barrel faults. All of these problems have since been corrected and some guys are selling simply to upgrade to the newer XCR.

As well, it is no secret that Alex has displayed less than perfect customer relations, and this has caused problems with XCR owners who have expected more when dealing with Robinson Armament when it comes to repairs and/or warranty. It should be said that many Canadian XCR owners could have avoided the hassle of having to send parts/rifles down to the states and/or having to deal with less than perfect correspondence with RA if they would have dealt with Wolverine Supplies - the Canadian importer, but I digress...

Look, the fact is that the XCR is a kick ass platform that will only be improved on in the coming years. Did they have a few hiccups with the rifle off the get go? Yes, of course they did. Did they correct the faults? Yes, and they continue to. The cost may be foreboding to some, and the novelty may come and go for others; but the XCR is a proven great rifle and is non restricted, an huge selling point for all.

Please have the decency to respect the OPs request and leave the AR chest puffing out of this thread. Yes, I own an AR, yes I love it; but lets not turn this into an "AR vs XCR" thread.

Oh please, I think my point is valid, it has come up around here before.

What did you contribute to this thread besides f**k all...

:slap:

Given your history it reads more like your just masturbating a prejudice. If the OP or anyone *really* wants to know why XCR's go on sale ask the people selling them.

While I respect your position and many of your posts on this forum; I think that the point here is that there is no debate, but rather a question by the OP.

Edit: If 50calshooter has 40 years of service in several dozen countries at the ripe old age of 27, with over a dozen being NATO nations and countless LE departments, then wow, I want in on that gig.

You will probably be waiting for ever then as NEA are the only ones bringing one to market........... even the Swiss are buying from us.

Well, as one of the guys who posted my 7.62x39 XCR on the forum for sale, I can honestly say there are several factors at play:
-Availability (or lack thereof) of 5/30 7.62x39 AR Mags, made worse by the demise of C-Products, possibly made better by Marstar in a couple of weeks
-Accuracy of 7.62x39 round vs. .223 round. I'd take a trade for a .223 in similar shape
-Expense of conversion kit.. I'd rather have a JR carbine than the .223 conversion kit
-Cost of non corrosive brass case 7.62x39 ammo. I'm not willing to run corrosive steel case in the rifle. Can't justify it. Especially when you consider with steel case vs. Aluminum ejection port, the steel case usually wins, leading to some nasty wear on the port.
-Interest in trying something new. Where I'd take a trade for a .223 XCR, I'd also be interested in trying a Tavor or something else.

On the other hand:
- The XCR is SOOOO freaking easy to breakdown and clean. It's easier to maintain than an SKS, and that's saying alot
- The XCR handles well and is well built, despite what the doofs in this forum are saying
- In 7.62x39, although I don't have nice mags and refuse to use steel case ammo in my expensive gun, IF the SHTF, I do have access to said ammo, and the damage to the ejector it would cause is purely cosmetic, so giver!

And finally, as per the prices of the XCR in the forum being near retail. Let's think about this for a second. My rifle was $2700 including tax, shipping and an extra mag. That's the REAL retail price. Putting her up there for just below list is a freaking steal as far as I'm concerned. Another factor in the high price?

I don't really want to sell!! I'd love to have a trade for a Tavor or .223 XCR, but I'm in no damn rush to get rid of this fantastic rifle, and I figure the other sellers are in the same place.

So for you vultures waiting for the prices to drop, you'll be waiting for quite some time. For you haters posting here that the honeymoon is over - think again!

Sounds like someone trying to defend their guns value :stirthepot2:

In all seriousness though, why is there so much hate in this thread? People need money, for one, and second, there seems to be an expanding number of non-restricted options and not many can afford to have them all at once. Then theres people like me who realize that having a non-restricted really is not that big of an advantage (for ME) because my shooting will almost exclusively be done on a range and for $2700 I can have one hell of an AR, or an AR and a sidearm. (not a knock at the XCR, simply stating what makes sense for me)

As far as I'm concerned, the only problem with the AR platform is that it is restricted. Fantastic rifle, great price point, great selection and accessories. If it were non-restricted, hands down, AR is the way to go.

I guess the major point is that we have a GREAT selection of non-restricted 'black' guns right now! Why bother fighting with each other over which is better? The XCR fits me well. The AR fits others well... appreciate the fact that we even have the choice!

Hey no hard feelings on my end. ;) My apologies if I came off sounding a little arrogant. My original post was genuine and not meant to be a fishing expedition.

Again, maby second hand sales are up because the non-res novelty wore off. Alot of the hype around this rifle when it forst came to Canada was that it was non-res, if guys are only using them at the range then perhaps thats why.

Someone had also mentioned the difference between first gen and second gen, this may also have some merit.

It is a good rifle, worth $2,500 maybe not that high, but still a good rifle. As already said, just a bit more for a Swiss.

Many gun nutz are fashionistas in that they buy the latest fads and then have short attention spans and sell off.

Another good reason may be that tax time cometh.

I think he was talking about the Ar platform not 50calshooter .... Good one

Yah it could have went either way on that one . I had a feeling it was in humor ..... Good one :D I sold my Two Xcr's in favor of a tavor and a Ar . I found that 95% of my shooting was at the range . And I didnt like how inaccurate my Xcr was . So like mentioned earlier the novelty of the non res status wore thin .

Ahhh yesssss, too much hate. Took mine out ...Again... Into the bush, this time looking for Coyotes with the 5.56 set up, or I guess I could have used the 6.8, but I'm still sorting out some 100 gr. Accubonds I got for it. One of the other guys out took his Swiss, I think it's a nice gun too, I like mine a little better, why? Well more rail space and the XCR trigger is a lot less how shall we say, heavier user of real estate, than the Swiss's I've tried.

I know how to disassemble my guns and am not afraid of having to tighten something occasionally, which I might add I haven't had to on my XCR. How does it shoot? Quite well thank you, 1 moa with the 5.56, the 6.8, I'm still working loads on, but I'm thinking I can keep it around the same, not bad for Chrome lined barrels. Oh and if you actually look at a lot of 6.8 platforms, that's not bad at all.

Is Alex Robinson an a**hole? I don't know, he's been alright with me, but then again I wasn't an a**hole when I corresponded with him.

Why are so many for sale right now, don't care I'm not selling mine, I love it, I'm a lefty and as soon as I get an ambi mag release I'm in heaven. Oh , by the way we own some AR's too and as much as I like them, I like the XCR better. When the M comes out I'm buying one of them too. And if I haven't flogged the AR's by then, they'll be up for sale after.

Some of you don't like em, well, you're entitled to your opinion, Some people have bought everything from Colt SAA's to Norc M14's and resold them right away and no one crawls up and screeches "Garbage, That's why." So before I get too long winded, If you want one, all I can say, is I like mine, even with some of the minor problems I did have, firing pin issue, that was easily solved and hasn't reappeared and if you don't like them, then buy something else, or don't, I don't care.

Why are so many people getting outa this gun? looking for reasonable replys here.

Maybe those that own them are getting time on other rifles and are now realizing the XCR is an overpriced piece of garbage, and trying to dump them without getting hit too bad in the wallet?

Thanks
CplDogNuts

Your welcome:)

Ps. Notice too that the only ones that defend them in this and other threads are those that bought into, and still have them;)
I would wagger a guess that all who rid themselves of the rifle would never look back...:D
