That black pistol grip looks excellent.

Range report!

Used the M4 carbine zero target to walk in the Meprolight M5. It was on paper from the start. Seems to be very gentle on the brass with an interesting mark left from the dual ejectors.

Finished off the 3 mags of Norinco 55 gr white box into this target at 100 yards. I was unable to insert a full mag with a closed bolt.

Had 15 km cross wind and -12 temperature. I am pleased given the conditions and would say accuracy is slightly better than a Ruger mini 14.

I also squeezed a range trip in today. Around 10C and raining.

Shooting from the bench with range sandbags.

Ammunition: PMC 5.56 X-TAC 62gn
Targets: 4-inches in diameter.
Distance: 100m (5-shots only each target.)

Best and last group of the day (2-1/4" approx):

Second best and second last group:

A random one (the rain caused the target to droop, so hole is where you see it, but not in target.):

I'll go out again tomorrow to try different ammunition now that I've sighted it in :)

So how does the bolt hold device work? I can hardly see it. Is it the same as the tar21?

Same idea, just more recessed. Because there are occasional complains of the Tavor one being too large; although in my personal anecdotal experience I have accidentally bumped way more AR ping-pong-paddles then Tavor bolt release, the non-scientific ratio is roughly --> AR=countless:Tavor=never.

Ok guys. Next question.

Triangle meprolight for the tavor? Or new gen Eotech?

Or any other recommendations would be cool. I am leaning towards the eotech xps2 right now

Range Report #2

I tested three types of ammo I had on hand today and will rank them with a sentence with my experiences.
NOTE: All targets and distances same (100m) off of sandbags and blocks. I shot three targets with each ammo (5-shots/target.)

#1 - PMC X-TAC 5.56 62gn ---- X95 loves this stuff; I get consistent groups as I posted the other day and shot the best group of my life at 200m (I'll post it below.)
#2 - American Eagle AR223 55gn --- Decent, it seemed like I was getting consistent 3" groups at 100m.
#3 - American Eagle AR5.56 62gn --- Not a good experience. I always had one or two holes really far from group... 3" to 5" was normal.

Now, to end the day I decided to setup a target at 200m and do one 5-shot string on it just to see if my rifle was centered out that far and what this rifle could do.
Fluke? Skill? hah... I don't know but was I ever happy with the results:

Tada! I couldn't believe it myself... I love this rifle :)
I didn't dare ruin the moment and try another group.

Cheers~
