XCR Photoshoot....post em up let your XCR Freak Flag Fly

Working on an optic now. Thinking of putting on my vortex viper on there and test out the true accuracy of this rifle just to see if the haters are correct or not. Either way it is my new hunting/tactical/precision rifle.

I thought you guys might enjoy my newly finished discreet XCR-L range bag. It's a Toughbuilt tool bag with a couple layers of foam and integrated shock cord tie downs. There's also a dimple foam cover that will double as a place to set the gun down between sessions but it's still drying in my garage after being Plasti-dipped for water resistance and durability.

I would be interested to know at what point does "discreet" become concealed and result in charges in the eyes of the law?......

Same with the laws around prohibiting people from fortifying their homes, yet the firearms act states you can use a room in your house to store firearms if it is properly secured. Some people build concrete panic and vault type rooms in their homes and even hire contractors to do so along with having the plans approved by the city, so at what point does ones home security become a fortification resulting in criminal charges?

Ya there have been a few threads on that subject. In my case it's more to dissuade nosey onlookers while packing/unpacking my vehicle. If it was absolutely necessary I'd be fine with sewing a patch on the side that stated the contents.

I have to ask what are you talking about + I need clarification = I've never heard of what you are referring too.

He's just pondering the legal possibilities between 'concealed' and 'discreet'. Maybe for good reason considering how stupid the firearms laws are? I don't see how it could be any different than Pelican cases which could be used to store and transport any number of items that may or may not be firearms.

when you look in any outdoor outfitters catalog you see all the various cases being sold as gun cases however a tool bag is not marketed that way.

I have seen a few posts where people do this so neighbors are none the wiser but at the same time there are people that do it to take firearms on public transit (in BC our crown run transit service does not allow firearms) taxis and through other public places where carrying a std gun case or simply slinging it over your shoulder would likely result in the police coming to see what you are doing.

The fortification laws are a little more tricky, they were enacted to charge people who barricade their homes with fences, cameras, gates, steel doors, bars, etc (think hells angels club houses, stash houses and grow ops). Now if I were to build a gun/panic room in my home with 6 sides of concrete and a vault door to store my firearms food and other essentials, I am following the firearms law regarding safe storage by doing so, but may be in trouble under fortification laws. This to me wasn't really an issue since long ago when the cfo inspected my storage, it was the chief firearms officer for BC that came to do so and he is not a police officer but now I hear that regular RCMP officers have been given firearms officer roles and do these inspections. I guess really I am curious as to what they would do in the instance they inspected someones home that had one of these vault/panic room type deals inside as the firearms storage.

Well, it's better than the Black Diamond ski pack I was using! It's a bag like any other (canvas duffle bag?). It holds my rifle for safe and secure transport. That's the way I see it.

I don't have an issue with it myself, I am just curious what law enforcement would say given different situations of finding a non restricted firearm in a bag like that or others I have seen posted as "discreet".
