XCR Photoshoot....post em up let your XCR Freak Flag Fly

The FAST stock is good in concept, but it isn't especially tight and it could stand to extend further for taller people.

Amen to that. Even dressed for -30C, with all the clothes on I can carry, it's short. I am constantly trying to see if it's actually fully extended.
However, my stock is really good and tight, no problems there.

I'm 6'4" I just mount my scope further forward use the last or second last lock positions with my fast stock.

I also have the original tube stock and both Dlask & NEA stock adaptors for my my Magpul CRT stock so I can swap to whatever configuration I want to play with that day.

my stock is tight, but I would also prefer the added length of the tube stock. The FAST stock is good for walking in the woods,.. in a lower position it shoulders easier allowing me to pick up my sided mounted green dot.

I may look at machining a spacer, maybe an aluminium one to place under the rubber pad. I never fold it anyway although folding would be handy for backpacks and short hard cases.

I built a spacer from plastic to go between the stock and the buttpad. It worked well. The fast just didnt feel right for me so i went dlask.

My ideas to improve the FAST:

  1. Adapt the folding mechanism to cam up for opening so the user doesn't have to lift on it (pull to open)
  2. Change the profile of the rear to a 45 degree gusset (like the tube stock) for weak hand-supported shooting
  3. Add a protruding head or lever to the LOP button to make it more easy to manipulate
In the meantime, I'll buy any folding tube stock you've got.

There is no way a 7MOA rifle could hit those targets!

I jest! :)

Lol......He had to have a cleanup batter off camera with a bird gun. I could never do that with mine, the heat from the explosion would cause my light pencil barrel to string shots after the first hit......or jam, or the upper would separate from the lower, or....

I wish I never sold mine, I may have to get into one again. I like the look of the new key-mod stock, looks lighter and less bulky.

Well I guess I am weak willed!

A few things different with this version vs the last one I had. First thing I noticed was there is no sling mount on the stock anymore and also there isn't the 'XCR' logo on the mag well.

Love the od green.

I think yours is early 2009.
Integral trigger guard and sling qd were both added in 2009. Separate revisions though.

Edit:
Never mind, yours has the sling qd hole.

Enjoy!

Ya last one was black, this one is just a little ###ier. It does have the hole but my old one had a built in loop already on the stock.

Picked up a Dlask adapter today from a fellow CGNer and I installed it as soon as I got home. I knew the FAST stock had a rattle to it, but it is amazing how much more solid this now feels. I have a Mil-spec tube on the way, but I used a commercial buffer tube I had on my M14. The butt stock is a FAB Defense stock I have had for a few years. I like it a lot. It fits commercial and mil-spec tubes equally tight.
