XCR Photoshoot....post em up let your XCR Freak Flag Fly

I watched American Sniper the movie yesterday, and on the movie Bradley Cooper who plays Chris Kyle uses Remington 700 series as his long distance rifle. He also carries an AR for closer combat. My question is, is Remington 700 series better in all aspect (other than ammo capacity and semi auto) than XCR platform to shoot long distance?

It is better in almost every respect for distance shooting. Chris Kyle used a 300WM and 338LM for his longer shots. Those rounds are infinitely better for long distance then .223 or anything an xcr comes in. Different weapons for different purpose.

So took it out today, hammered 4 - 500 rounds through it. Cycled on setting 1 perfect after i broke it in, liked the Romanian surplus better than the Chinese,
10 round pistol mags are more like 9 rounds, ill upload a video later.
If your gonna buy one, buy a front grip as well, as it heats up and you can't handle it after a while.
Needs a optic as well.

you need to do better research on your own, the amount that I would have to write to cover this would be too long for my ipad.
Its like you are comparing a fishing rod to a snow cone.
Sure you could catch fish with a snow cone, but you wouldn't be very good at it.
Sure a fishing rod could help your thirst on a hot summer day but it wouldn't be very good at it.

Ya thats what found too, she gets damn hot quick. Vert grip is a must have

What trying something like the RailScale for keymods as a heat barrier?
G10 is a fiberglass reinforced epoxy laminate that is extremely durable, grippy, and lightweight and has minimal heat transfer.

Not many reviews out yet.

Kind of pricey. Hopefully some other vendors will offer something similar and maybe pricing will come down.

Yep its not an issue if your running a grip. I wouldnt want to add anything that would affectively become a heat barrier. Keep them vent holes open to airflow. Glad i got the HB. I need to find someone local with the same caliber in the light barrel. Id be intrested to see the accuracy differences in side by side shooting after both barrels are hot.

Stock XCR-M in 308 , Just a cheap Bushnell 1.5-6x44 XLT 30mm With a burris pepr
But that scope and mount will be junked in the spring when I get my new scope.. ..

I just use a Magpul angled grip, works fine and heat does not become an issue

I've got to admit this is the first I have ever heard of this = I never shoot more than 10 223 thru mine at a go before I let the barrel cool but then I'm not a blaster I'm a hunter that shoots for working up accurate loads.

I have a grip on mine, just because I find it makes it easier to carry slinged to the front.

If I do a bunch of rounds in fairly quick succession, the only time I notice the hot barrel (using my angled grip) is when I am packing up :)

Same here, 2 mags, shoot 10 rds total, walk to target, walk back and reload 2 mags. R&R until happy or out of ammo lol.
