Would you like to see a bunch of 6.8s hit the Canadian market?

Well if we are getting these 6.8 XCR's what we need now is a decent supply of relatively affordible ammo for it. I haven't seen 6.8 ammo anywhere ever. Any dealers want to step up to the plate?

I don't think "affordable" and "6.8SPC" can exist. it's $20-$30USD for 20rounds; would love to see it though.

However, if a dealer could step up with reloading supplies (i.e. brass, bullets and dies) for said cartridge that'd be awesome!

I'm waiting on bullets and dies now, but I'm going to order a bunch of brass as well.
I'd like to have enough ammo loaded to break my XCR in on the first shooting session.
It sounds like I'll have lots of time to accumulate things.

Got all mine at Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver.

First guy I spoke with treated me like I was retarded, as he'd never heard of it. Very rude and condescending... obviously since he didn't know about it I must be an idiot .

"No," he says conclusively "they hadn't any in stock".

I asked to speak with someone else, the someone else was one of the bosses (sorry, forgot his name). Introduced himself & shook my hand, a real class act.

He said he could get me some (SP or MC), how much did I want? "All of it" says I. "Could I come back in an hour?" asks he, smiling.

1 hour later I had a whoppin' bag full o' 6.8mm SPC. It sometimes pays to dig in a little when looking for 'specialty' items :D.

Cheers

Yeah I bought a $2000 + value Win 95 and a $2500 value Mannlicher Shoenaur off a self professed gun expert for under a grand.
I really had to bite my tongue that day.

Sweet! Wanna' sell it? :D I'm in town (CR)...

Sorry, I have a collection of them.
I also have one of the engraved Premier models that I've seen go for $6500 US on gun auctions.
I've got a very rare MS full stock with a 24" barrel too.
I never knew they existed until I bought it.
The $2500 MS was a 3006 made for the US market, but not many made it here.
It has 3 express sights on the barrel.

I was just teasing anyhow... I wouldn't sell it either if I were you ;).

I'd love to see that full stock 24" some day, maybe I'll run in to you at the club sometime. They certainly are a rarity...

There was a nice little MS Carbine sold for $1500'ish at the Maynards auction in April, was that you I bid against?

(Sorry OP, I'm off topic as usual :D)

Cheers

No I have enough MSs to do me.
I am waiting for a Robinson XCR though.

How about a rimfire conversion? Either 17 HMR or .22 LR?

That way, we can put through a lot of ammo on the same platform, inexpensively.

The .223 will be my big one though.

I need a 7.62x39 conversion!!!! I used to be an AR-15 guy but I like my XCR better than my AR's now. I never thought that would happen.

Export of the 7.62x39 kit is probably verboten by the gun-gestapo but a conversion for the 7.62 Russian Short could probably receive the blessing of the ITAR demigods... Much like the 5.56x45 versus .223 Remington situation...

Stop complaining, if someone is apparently smuggling 16" 6.8 SPC kits out of the US, it won't be long until boatloads of 7.62x39 kits on are the EE as well.

I'd rather have a nice non-smuggled option in non-restricted 18.5" barrel length... I wasn't complaining btw, just pointing out that the 7.62x39 has a more "sporting" designation that could pass the bean counters' scrutiny..

That is true, but it is very unlikely that will ever happen. Our best bet is to have a Canadian manufacturer make extra barrels and bolts in various calibres up here.
