Yellow Tail Wine Donates To Anti-Hunting

From seaching their website under the topic of hunting, they clearly are anti-hunting, and even opposed legislative initiatives to extend Sunday bow hunting on private land in certain areas in the states, for instance. I suppose you could get down to the fine details of whether it was sustainable hunting or over exploiting of the resources, but I'd say they likely take a swipe at hunting at any opportunity. Too bad they don't just stick to rescuing pets and preventing cruel puppy mills, etc.

Wow...I just had some last week paired with some Antelope steak...Irony? Perhaps. Last bottle? Certainly.

Just send them an email on their site that you have ceased to purchase their plonk. Hit them where it hurts...in the wallet. They have shareholders who will not take lightly to reduced profits.....

Letter sent:
I've just been told by other members of our shooting clubs and Canadiangunnutz.com that Yellow tail has contributed $100,000 to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). This is the largest anti-hunting organization in North America and although it has made contributions to pet welfare, it has done very little or nothing to preserve our environment, natural breeding areas, wildlife habitat, and wildlife conservation heritage. As a skeet and trap shooter, hunter and angler, and belonging to 3 clubs engaged in preserving wildlife habitat and conservation, I, my family, my friends, my fellow club members and the 3 shooting associations I belong to, would no longer be able to support buying your products if this is true. As a former President of a Grape Growers Association and vineyard owner, I have greatly enjoyed your products and it will be a sacrifice to give up Yellow Tail wines, but we will do it if you continue to support the HSUS.
Thanks,
Dr. Bill Lanterman, NFA, CSSA, MVRRC, AMA, TNS, NSFAH

I've tried their wine and was not impressed, I think they feed the vegie crowd.. It did not go well with my game.
Oh and by the way, wine and salad, as with any other fruit does not blend well with my palate.
Wine is meant to be drank by the successful in their labour of love, that is fish and game.

My letter- short and sweet:

Dear Sir/Madam

As a consumer of your great products, that were most recently served at my daughters wedding, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be purchasing your products as a result of your recent donation to the HSUS.

As CEO I have also instructed that your products are not to be purchased at any of our corporate events.

While I know that my gesture is unlikely to have any real economic impact and is more symbolic, I am hoping that many others may follow my lead.

Sincerely

Yellow tail is 5hit wine! :puke:
Utter trash!
Especially Shiraz. It's a 5hit grape stuffed in a 5hit bottle!!

I'd rather drink homemade dandilion wine!!

Speaking of wines though....have you heard..

Wal-Mart announced that, sometime in 2010, it will begin offering customers a new discount item, their own store-brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-$5 range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to put a bottle of Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts, but "there is a market for inexpensive wine," said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at the University of Arkansas , "but the right name is important."

Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Walmart wine brand. The top surveyed names in order of popularity were:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. Black Trashfindel
8. Big Chinese Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe it's not Vinegar
2. Grape Expectations
1. Nasti Spumante
The beauty of Walmart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum)or red meat (Squirrel).

P.S. Don't bother writing back that this is a hoax. I know possum is not a white meat!!

Yellow Tail Wine Donates $100,000.00 to Anti-Hunting

The Australian maker of Yellow Tail Wine has pledged $100,000 to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization. This partnership offers further proof of HSUS’ work to spin its animal rights message in a way as to seem mainstream.

We may want to think about this the next time we're shopping for wine.

Ron

Who the #### drinks wine!?
