You Don't Own A Type 81 - You Can't Speak For Us

Riflechair has a vid out where he tightens up his SKS groups with a bit of bedding..
So $1000 bent 81 or.... 4 SKS's and some bedding and get some accuarcy out of a good solid , proven reliable platform

Except.....Nobody bought a Type 81 to shoot groups with! It's for whacking gongs at moderate ranges, shooting beer cans in the bush and looking very communist! :)

Do you troll hk416 threads suggesting owners just bed a mini 14 at half the price?

Of course not, because that would be ridiculous.

He can try but the results would be hilarious. And odds are the Hk416 would still be more accurate.

This thing seems to be no more accurate or reliable than the sks it's based off.

Measuring on a Figure 12/59, the top cluster MPI measures 4”, but when you include it all (with the three rounds down by the rifle and bayonet) it grows to 7”, so 8 moa and 14 moa at 50m.
Either guys are just chucking rounds down range, suck at shooting, or there is some binding/timing issues with the rifles that have posted up groups.
While I get that this thing isn’t an accuracy platform, even with sh!t surplus it should be capable of producing better groups than this.

Fwiw, the op of that target said those fliers were already there. He found these used target at his range. Or so he says.

Ppl do accurize the mini. I can't imagine why, it is what it is. Very few ppl accurize the SKS, but and in my limited experience the comparison is apt.

The type 81 shoots better than the SKS on average, just like the 416 outshoots the mini.

Btw, an hk416 is not typically an moa rifle. It just costs a lot and is reliable.

It's not based off the SKS in any way shape or form. It has exactly three things in common with the SKS - same calibre, similar bolt carrier, similar gas piston. It has a totally different receiver, totally different gas system, gas regulator, completely different safety, much better trigger, removable mags (SKS with removable Mags are typically Tapco-f*cked examples - they were never issued that way), different sights, different furniture. It has elements taken from the SKS, some taken from the AK and some completely different from either one.

What gets me is the people who pile $700 worth of crap onto a $200 SKS wiping out its greatest strengths - reliability and ease of use/maintenance in the process!

proof or it never happened. 4" or better group at 50 yards = 8MOA from a pistol. Would love to see that caught on video. Most olympic shooters can't do that using highly customized precision pistols, eye magnifiers, and with low powered match grade .22LR ammo ;)

For those that care, the 10 ring on a 50m olympic pistol target is 2" in diameter. The 9 ring is 4" in diameter. A perfect score is 600, to be on the Canadian olympic team, you have to shoot 560, which means you MIGHT maintain a 4" group. Maybe.

Absolutely Anytime!
and here is the gun:

I just don't understand why are you SOOOOOO defensive?

These both came from the same factory, but are very different rifles.

Feels good to finally have a T81 in my possession :) I can't stop giving it the old hungry eyes :p

Accurizing either is a daft move.

So far the sks and t81 groups seem comparable.

And actually from the first group to the current a5 if you put quality ammo in it the 416 it will do sub moa. On average run of the mill ammo. It will do its minute of man group.

So they took the operating guts off a sks and dumped into an inferior stamped receiver.

Not even close. They borrowed exactly 3 things that are similar to the SKS and put it in to a new receiver, added a bunch of entirely different parts and came up with a superior rifle that is 30 odd years newer technology.
