Your loudest handgun

All my Contenders and Encores make lots of noise. The 460 and 500 S&W are real loud with lots of flame but the one that really fools everyone is my S&W model 53 in 22 Rem Jet. If you have never fired one or been around someone who has you really have no idea how loud a tiny gun can be. There is absolutley no recoil to speak of but the noise is deafening. Great fun everyone wants to shoot it when I take it out.

Tokarev. Definitely louder than a 9mm or .45 for sure. I love that little sucker. You feel a nice shockwave when your buddy shoots one beside you too. They have roughly the same powder charge as a .45acp and the bullet weigh's about 1/3 as much!!!! Its alot of powder for a bullet smaller and lighter than a 9mm.

Either my .50AE Desert eagle or the .45-70 Magnum Research BFR I got to try at the range one time.

For rifles, Steyr HS-50. It clears your sinuses with every shot with that muzzle brake.

Pleasant to shoot... but a little on the loud side to use indoors...

Years ago Doug Koenig shot the long range event at the Masters with a motorcycle helmet on, the combination of the XP100 chambers for something like 7mmBR and enclosed shooting stall apparently made for a less than pleasant experience.

The loudest handgun I've ever heard isn't one I own but one I had the loan of from a buddy. A Ruger Blackhawk chambered in 30 M1 carbine. It sounds loud like the report of a 44 Mag using really hot loads combined with the sharp intensity of a 22 Remington Jet.
