Your loudest handgun

I must say that its pretty close amongst the 3 loudest I have. Using full house loads I would say the 454 Casull 6in bbl, Dan Wesson 744 w/4in bbl and finally the BFR in 45-70. The 45Casull and the 45-70 both have the added bonus of a lovely light show with the thunder..

My S&W Model 19 [K frame[ .357 Magnum snubbie can be quite 'barky' with full house loads:

NAA.

My first handgun was a 686 with the 2 1/2" barrel.

Back then I shot at an indoor range, and one day I bought a box of some European brand factory hollow points in .357 mag.

Those things were hot... they made a cool cone of flame about 2 feet out from the muzzle, and an awesome corona about 3 feet around from the flash gap.

As for the sound, "barky" didn't come close. Absolutely harsh might come close.

Fun times!

With top end loads using 296 and something like a 'modified' Speer 325gr HP, the 500 S&W isn't only loud but the fireball produced makes the big Smith look like a Fire Breathing Dragon:p. However, as I've made mention in previous posts, no matter what I 'feed' it, it shoots well:D.

Me to, I have a 460v with 5 inch barrel and when running full on 460 loads it's rediculous. Huge fireball and it rattles your teeth. I like to wear my custom fitted earplugs and the muffs when shooting in enclosed areas.
I actually want to take it to an indoor range just to see how loud it is indoors.

It's pretty loud with 454 casull loads as well.

Second place in my collection is my Glock 10mm.

To add to this. My 460 load uses 46 grain of H110 pushing the 325gr XTP-MAG hollowpoints.
I used to run them a little hotter (just under book max) but my hands were tingly after a few so I backed it down a little:D
I'll check the book when I get home but I'm pretty sure they are the 325gr ones. I have so many boxes of different bullets to play with I can't keep them straight without going through the load log.

I own all auto's. The usual calibres. So It would have to be the 7.62x25. Man you feel a nice wave when someone shoots one beside you. A quicker crack than say a .357 but similar db's. I love that little thing.

Gee, I figured somebody would have given this answer by now .... but I guess it's up to me -

Of the twenty or so handguns I own, the loudest is the one I happen to be firing at the moment ..... because the others are just sitting there quietly, waiting their turn! f:P:2:
